Stacey Solomon teary as she shares update on son Rex's surgery after accident

Reality star Stacey Solomon has been keeping her fans up to date after her son Rex, two, experienced a “nightmare” fall over the weekend.

The Loose Woman panellist admitted to being teary eyed and feeling anxious while her youngest son underwent a surgery operation on his mouth.

On Sunday, Rex had suffered a fall in the garden that required stitches.

Since then, the young lad has been in and out of hospital to receive treatment over the last few days and had temporary butterfly stitches put in place ahead of his operation.

On Tuesday, Stacey, 31, took to her Instagram stories to inform her fans of her son’s progress and to share her joy that he’s now out of surgery.

In one of the snaps that the star uploaded, Stacey could be seen in the hospital bed with Rex as she held his hand tightly.

Rex wore his hospital gown and the hospital bracelet as he continued to recover from his surgery.

Captioning the photo, Stacey penned: “I got my pickle back,” followed by some big eyes and crying emojis.

“Love you all to the moon and back,” she added.

In another post the TV personality said: “Everything went so well. We will be back home soon.”

She also complimented the NHS staff that treated Rex, saying: “From giving birth here to fixing the pickles, your staff and everyone who works so hard in your trust have always been so amazing.”

But before Rex had gone into theatre the usually-happy expecting mother was understandably worried.

“Thinking of all the mummies, daddies and carers and extremely brave pickles who have to do this all of the time.”

“It’s not nice at all,” she chimed.

Keeping herself busy while Rex was in the theatre room, Stacey decided to do a spot of decorating and added faux plants to her son’s hospital room.

Sharing the images with her fans on Instagram the star said: “Honestly, I can’t tell you what a fake plant and a blanket do to a room.

“It makes me feel so much less worried when I bring home things with me to these places.

“Thank you all for being so lovely.”
