EastEnders’ star Natalie Cassidy has told how she has been struggling to keep her eyes open due to hay fever.
Natalie, who previously told how hay fever had left her struggling to breathe, revealed how she was still being affected as she posted a video of her enjoying a BBQ in her garden on Tuesday evening.
The actress, who has played Sonia Fowler in the soap since 1993, took to Instagram to share a video of her sat in her garden.
She then panned the camera around to show her swollen face and weeping eyes as she said: “Just such a fantastic evening in the garden, having a nice BBQ. I don’t know what to say anymore.
“I love summer. Not allergic to anything at all.”
According to the Met Office, the UK is currently recording ‘very high’ pollen forecasts in most of England – something which causes hay fever outbreaks across the population.
At the weekend a distraught Natalie told her followers she was at “breaking point” in a video taken in her garden.
She said: ‘I wanted to see if everyone is enjoying the weather, because I’m not.
“I can’t breathe. I can’t see hardly, and this hay fever is off the wall this year.”
“It’s not an enjoyable experience, and I’d like to pour Optrex into my eyes all day and get into a freshly-washed bed, which has been in the tumble dryer unfortunately, not on a line, which you should want. I want to go to sleep and wake up in October.
“I’m going to try and go outside and enjoy the paddling pool with me children, but I’m at breaking point.”
Natalie then joked as she held up a glass and wine: “And apparently this doesn’t help hay fever either but oh well.”
Last month the heartbroken star announced on Instagram her father Charles died aged 84.
She explained his death was the reason “I’ve been very quiet the last few weeks”, adding: “I lost my precious daddy three weeks ago today”.
EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8.05pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.35pm on BBC.
