Congratulations are in order for Bake Off star Manon Lagrève, who has just become a mum for the first time.
The French baking whizz, 29, welcomed a “happy and healthy” baby girl named Fleur Camille with her fiancé Luke Bennett last weekend.
Manon has a place in The Great British Bake Off history, making it to week eight in the 2018 edition of the wholesome Channel 4 series.
Sheffield University researcher Rahul Mandal was crowned the champion that year, with Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood casting their verdict on weeks’ worth of bakes.
Sharing the heartwarming news of their daughter’s birth on Instagram, Manon revealed little Fleur was born on Father’s Day.
Accompanying a series of pictures of the newborn, she wrote: “Fleur Camille Bennett. Born on Father’s Day 20th June 2021, all happy and healthy.
“A little lady who took us by surprise when she decided to come! We love her very much already.”
Manon confirmed she was expecting in an interview with Hello! magazine in March, admitting she had always wanted to become a mum.
“I grew up knowing I wanted to be a mum so I’m very happy and relaxed with being pregnant,” she said.
It looks like little Fleur will follow in her mum’s footsteps when it comes to baking, learning from Manon’s masterclass in French patisserie.
Manon added: “The baby will be with me in the kitchen from the day it’s born. We are so happy to be having a summer baby and the due date is on Luke’s birthday – it feels like it’s meant to be.”
The French chef, who worked as a software project manager when she joined the cast of Bake Off, got engaged to Luke last year.
Luke got on bended knee during a holiday in Barbados, proposing with a unique diamond-cut sapphire ring.
The engagement didn’t come as a surprise to Manon, who knew she wanted to marry Luke from the outset of their romance.
She added to the publication: “We’d been talking about getting married for a while. It was love at first sight…
‘We were boyfriend and girlfriend after two weeks and I moved in with him within four months. When you find the one, you just know.”
The lovebirds are planning on tying the knot in Manon’s native Brittany next year, with little Fleur in attendance on their special day.
