Molly-Mae Hague to undergo surgery for endometriosis after docs dismiss concerns

Molly-Mae Hague will be having surgery to remove her endometriosis after years of suffering with intense period pains, she has confirmed.

The condition, which is often hard to diagnose and takes many people years to be formally diagnosed by doctors, means that small pieces of the womb lining are found outside the womb.

The condition often causes intense pain in your lower tummy or back and severe period pains.

Love Island alumni Molly-Mae shared the results of her diagnosis in a candid YouTube video on Thursday.

She told her followers: “I actually have got to have an operation for something that I want to tell you guys about. It’s kind of a good thing and it’s kind of a bad thing.

“I’ve told you guys for so long now that I suffer with excruciating periods and so many of you guys were commenting on my videos telling me to check for endometriosis.”

Molly-Mae explained that she visited a doctor a few times in relation to endometriosis and explained her symptoms – even informing them that her symptoms would get so bad that she needs to take time off work.

The 22-year-old said that every doctor she visited said that she didn’t have endometriosis, so she ultimately chose to visit a specialist.

She said: “Straight away they said ‘You absolutely do have endometriosis, it’s clear as day’. So I guess that’s kind of a good thing, because at least I know now what it is.

“It’s not a good thing that I have endometriosis, because obviously it can affect fertility and loads of other things, and you can never really cure it.”

Molly-Mae explained that her keyhole surgery which is booked in will get rid of it, but she has been told that there is a 40% chance that it could come back.

She went on to explain that she is terrified of needles and is nervous because she will need a blood test before her operation.

Her followers flocked to share their well-wishes, while one user praising her for talking so candidly about her diagnosis.

Molly-Mae first rose to fame on Love Island after building her budding career on Instagram.

Since coming out of the villa, the beauty has stayed with her beau Tommy Fury, after the pair landed second place on the show.
