Rylan Clark-Neal, 32, previously spoken frankly about considering a year out to raise a child of his own with partner Dan Neal before they split earlier this year.
The Big Brother legend turned TV regular admitted he loved being a stepfather to Dan’s son Cameron but also wanted a child of his own.
However, the couple never had a child of their own – with the decision rumoured to be at the centre of the breakdown of their marriage.
Rylan explained that he and Dan would talk about the prospect but it was always an issue of timing.
The Supermarket Sweep host said candidly: “I’m already a stepdad but, of course, I’d like to have kids. Since day one I’ve always wanted kids. I love babies.
“It is definitely something that we will talk about and discuss if, how, when and why. It’s doable.
“It’s always on the table, it’s just when the time is right.
“If I did have a baby, I’d be the sort to want a year off just to be a dad. There’s a lot that I’ve got to look at.”
Rylan added to The Sun at the time that he often found rumours swirled about his relationship with Dan – with fake claims they had split.
He continued: “Every other week the phone rings and it’s, ‘We’ve heard that you’ve split up and he’s living with his mum’,”
“And we’re sitting there together. Honestly, everything is great between us.”
In a statement earlier this week, Rylan confirmed his marriage has now broken down.
He was keen to put the blame on himself – adding he is now seeking help.
Rylan said: “Following reports about Dan and I spending time apart, I feel I have to speak out – as the way it is being reported is unfair.
“I have made a number of mistakes which I deeply regret and have inevitably led to the breakdown of our marriage.
“I am trying to take each day at a time and would like to thank you to everyone for their support and for respecting our privacy at this time.”
