Shannon Singh compares OnlyFans past to Hollywood acting after Love Island stint

Dumped Love Island star Shannon Singh has defended her OnlyFans career – comparing it to the career of a Hollywood actor.

Shannon was ditched from the villa in record time after first bombshell Chloe Burrows came in and stole Aaron Francis, who she was coupled up with.

But ahead of her reality TV stint, Daily Star Page 3 girl Shannon made her career in glamour and e-commerce modelling, and turned to subscription service OnlyFans shortly to have added control over her content.

The site is most prolific for its gathering of porn performers, allowing subscribers access to various X-rated snaps and videos.

Shannon goes by the name Alexa Campbell on the subscription site.

And now Shannon has admitted to The Sun that her glamour modelling past has made her “a really strong and independent woman.”

“I’ve owned what I’ve done,” Shannon told the publication. “I was a teenager when I first started doing glamour modelling but it has led me onto a great path.”

But, having faced backlash for the raunchy snaps she’s posted to OnlyFans, Shannon hit back at her critics.

And she says Hollywood actors definitely aren’t viewed in the same way.

“You’ve got Dakota Johnson in 50 Shades of Grey – it’s soft porn. You’ve got celebrities like Margot Robbie naked in front of everyone in The Wolf of Wall Street.

“Naomi Campbell has got a full nude book published and Kate Moss has got nudes everywhere. It’s 2021,” she insisted.

Shannon continued: “You’ve got the #MeToo movement. Women are taking ownership of their sexuality.”

Business-ready Shannon previously explained to Daily Star that content creation sites like OnlyFans give creators ownership over the pictures and clips they post.

“I’ve grown a thick skin having an online presence and doing what I do,” she said ahead of her Love Island appearance.

“I made good money. I think the thing that people don’t realise is once I started doing glamour modelling, the industry kind of went kaput.

“And OnlyFans has got this stereotype, but I had it when nobody knew what it was. It was a platform for glamour girls,” she explained.

“The way I looked at it was, had an agency, they were gonna take 35 percent commission, you had this new, upcoming subscription page called OnlyFans that took 20 percent, and it gave creatives more control.”

Shannon went on: “When you’re in the glamour industry and you’re shooting all these things, you sign releases and lose control of what content they’ve got of you.

“So OnlyFans has given models and creatives – because it’s a massive site, it’s not just glamour or porn – a really good income stream.

“But there’s also the misconception of it and it’s got a stereotype and perception of, ‘oh, girls with OnlyFans’ [but] we had to take control of our content and own it.

“And OnlyFans is the biggest platform for that.”

However, Shannon was forced to delete her profile after followers attempted to leak the racy pics she’d posted there.
