Meghan Markle 'absolutely' knew about Harry's family says Real Housewives star

A former star of the Real Housewives of Cheshire has cast doubt on Meghan Markle’s claims that she did not know who Prince Harry was.

Model Leilani Dowding believes it would be unthinkable that Meghan would not have “googled” Harry and his family before meeting.

Meghan Markle left the public stunned when she claimed she didn’t do any research into the Royal Family or know who Harry was.

She made the incredible disclosure during the Sussexes’ explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey in March when the couple spoke candidly about their difficulties with royal life in the UK.

Meghan, 39, and Prince Harry, 36, are understood to have been set up on a blind date for their first date in 2016.

Former page 3 Leilani also met her fiancé, The Cult guitarist Billy Duffy, on a blind date and thinks the Duchess would have definitely researched who she was meeting.

Speaking to the Daily Express, she claims: “Absolutely not [true] in this day and age, everyone Googles everyone.”

Leilani added: “I googled Billy and Billy googled me, the moment I heard that he wanted to ask me out, I said, ‘You know, send me a photo, what’s his name? Oh, Billy Duffy, OK, let me put that into Google and see what happens’.

“I just find it very hard to believe that in this day and age, anybody would not look somebody up if they were well known.”

The former Real Housewives of Cheshire star went on to say: “I just think if you’re going on, whether it’s a blind date or anything, it would be so naive not to look up somebody first. Absolutely, Billy did that with me, I did it with him — I don’t know anybody that wouldn’t!”

In here her interview with Oprah, Meghan said: “Thank God I didn’t know a lot about the family, thank God I hadn’t researched – I would’ve been so in my head about it.”
