Love Island bosses revealed Tuesday evening will see not just one, but two blonde contestants appear in the villa as bombshell late arrivals.
Lucinda Strafford is one of those arrivals, leaving Brighton behind for the Majorcan sunshine as she puts her fate in the hands of the Love Island matchmakers.
In the promotional shots for the show, Lucinda, 21, looks like a surfer girl with long blonde hair and a glowing tan, but unearthed photos reveal the former air hostess was once a brunette.
A photo shared to her Instagram in July 2018 shows the new Islander with glossy dark locks pulled back in a ponytail, the snapshot taken as she dined out in Bokan 37 in London’s docklands.
It seems Lucinda migrated naturally into blonde hair, originally dying her hair in an ombre tone, highlighting her ends with tones of caramel.
As of this year, the influencer – who has 67,000 Instagram followers – has gone fully blonde, ditching her darker roots in favour of golden locks.
Lucinda’s hair colour sent Twitter into meltdown upon news of her arrival, as a couple of male contestants have described blondes as their ideal “type” on the show.
In heartbreaking scenes on Monday, Jake Cornish told his match Liberty Poole – a fellow blonde – his head might turn if another fair-haired beauty walks into the villa.
Jake and Liberty have been coupled up since day one, but the water engineer has expressed his doubts about the relationship behind her back.
Speaking about his soft spot of blondes, he said: “To be honest Libs is not giving me any reason not to trust her.
“It is progressing in the right way, I don’t know if that’s because my eyes aren’t elsewhere.
“I’d be lying if I didn’t say if another blonde came in and she had blonde hair, blue eyes, up for a laugh, why would I not get to know her because I’m with Lib?
“It’s building building building, it’s getting there, but it’s not there.”
While Lucinda might be Jake’s type, she has her eye on another contestant in the villa – labourer Brad McClelland.
Brad was saved from elimination on Monday night by bombshell newcomer Rachel Finni, who chose him over bucket hat business owner Chuggs Wallis.
When asked which bloke caught her eye, Lucinda said: “I really fancy Brad. And then possibly Liam. But obviously I’m open to getting to know any of the other boys. I feel like Brad probably doesn’t like people as much as he’s letting on.”
Whoever she goes for, looks like there’s trouble brewing in paradise.
Love Island continues on Tuesday at 9pm on ITV2.
