British rapper Aitch has taken a swipe at fat-shamers after he received negative comments regarding his recent artwork for his new single.
Last week, the musician saw several fans online share their hot take on the cover of his new single Learning Curve.
On the cover, Aitch, 21, can be seen surrounded by a number of beautiful plus-size models wearing white underwear.
The artistic cover also showed women with different skin tones.
The progressive artwork challenged people’s perceptions as it contrasted the stereotypical model look that is often portrayed in the music industry as a whole.
Although several fans applauded and congratulated the Mancunian rapper for using plus-size models in a positive way, others fat-shamed the women which Aitch admitted was “mad to see”.
Since then, the young rapper has been vocalising his thoughts on the negative backlash that he received online.
While appearing on Who We Be TALKS_ podcast, Aitch talked candidly about the abuse.
“All the negative stuff was mad to see; obviously, rappers get hate all the time, but it was a lot, and it was also s**t to see men hating on girls that much, it’s hard to witness,” he explained.
He continued: “If you’re going to comment and say that this tune is s**t, then that’s fine, say no more, you can do, but why are you going to comment about a girl.
“However, I also found out after I posted that picture how many men behind-the-scenes low-key like plus size girls, and how many were hiding from it.”
When asked why he chose to work with the plus models in particular, the young artist said: “That’s my vibe.”
He also said he believes men do like curvaceous women, but are often afraid to admit it.
Elsewhere in the interview, Aitch admitted that he often received abuse online and followers have threatened to “F [him] up”.
But Aitch believes that some people provoke and send rude comments because they are trying to get a negative reaction out of him.
Aitch, real name Harrison Armstrong, burst onto the music scene with his solo breakthrough single “Straight Rhymez” which brought him to the attention of London rapper Stormzy.
