BBC Breakfast’s Louise Minchin may finally make her way onto the Strictly Come Dancing dance floor after she leaves the popular morning show.
The presenter joked that her husband David has lifted her “lifetime ban” after colleagues relayed their experiences of being on one Britain’s most loved shows, reports Daily Express.
Many of the presenters from BBC Breakfast have appeared on Strictly Come Dancing including sports presenter Chris Hollins who won in 2009.
Minchin has always joked that her family wouldn’t let her compete in the show but with her upcoming departure from BBC Breakfast it appears her family may have given in.
Her comments came after co-presenter Carol Kirkwood, 59, spoke about her time on the show with Pasha Kovalev in 2015.
The weather presenter said: “Strictly was amazing, it’s one of those programmes that I will never regret or forget doing.”
“You just think, look, I’m not going to be a professional dancer, it’s not going to change my career or my life, just enjoy it.
“And, I did, it was good fun.”
Following her recollection of Strictly, BBC Triathlon presenter Annie Emmerson said: “I still think there is a place for Lou on that show!”
Louise has always ruled out signing up to the show as she joked she was on a “lifetime ban”.
Annie said: “If you don’t want to do it, then that’s fine.
“But, if you’re not doing it because your family said you can’t, that’s not a good reason in my eyes.”

The presenter replied: “What I’m more worried about is that the other day on [BBC] Breakfast, Dan [Walker] mentioned it and I said the line I’ve said for many years Carol, that, ‘I’m on a lifetime ban from my family’.
“And my husband texts me and he goes, ‘Ban lifted’.”
Excited by her admission, Carol chimed in: “Is this breaking news?”
“It’s really not,” Louise replied, laughing.
