Britney Spears is ‘hopeful conservatorship will be terminated’ as team resigns

Britney Spears is “hopeful her conservatorship will be terminated”, according to an inside source.

The 39-year-old pop star is apparently feeling hopeful about the future and thinks her 13-year-long conservatorship could be coming to an end.

However, the singer has faced a huge set back as multiple members of her team have resigned – including her manager and lawyer.

Britney’s long-time manager Larry Rudolph resigned from his position earlier this week, whilst her lawyer Samuel D Ingham III has requested he no longer represent the star.

Despite being hit with multiple resignations, Britney reportedly feels optimistic about her raging legal battle against her dad.

An inside source told E! News: “She’s finally feeling hopeful about the future.

“She thinks people are resigning because they know she is speaking the truth. She is relieved her attorney resigned and hopes that if she can pick her own lawyer, it means the judge is leaning towards terminating the conservatorship.”

The source went on: “She’s trying to be patient and see what happens. She is happy that things are starting to happen, and that the truth has finally come out.”

Larry announced his resignation in a letter to Britney’s co-conservators Jamie Spears and the court-appointed Jodie Montgomery on Monday.

He penned: “It has been over two-and-a-half years since Britney and I last communicated, at which time she informed me she wanted to take an indefinite work hiatus.

“Earlier today, I became aware that Britney had been voicing her intention to officially retire.”

Larry continued: “As her manager, I believe it is in Britney’s best interest for me to resign from her team as my professional services are no longer needed.”

He signed off his resignation by saying that he will “always be incredibly proud of what we accomplished over our 25 years together”.

Larry has been Britney’s primary manager since the mid-1990s, so has been there for Britney right from the start of her career.

Britney’s legal representative, Samuel D Ingham III, also quit the team earlier this week after 13 years – as long as her conservatorship.

TMZ reported that Sam is “extremely upset” with how Britney spoke about her conservatorship, as well as his handling of her legal case, when she broke her silence in court back in June.

The singer had alleged she wasn’t informed about all of her options regarding the conservatorship, such as how to request an end to the agreement, with sources telling TMZ the opposite.

Insiders claimed her lawyer had frequently laid out all of her options, but she never requested for it to end.

However, insiders also told Page Six that Britney “reiterated” to Sam “multiple times” that she wanted him to file the paperwork to end the conservatorship after the court hearing.

Britney’s dad Jamie Spears was initially offered a temporary conservatorship back in 2008 when the Baby One More Time singer re-entered a psychiatric hospital.

A judge then extended the order indefinitely as Britney was “susceptible to undue influence”.

Since then, the singer’s personal and business affairs have been controlled by the conservatorship agreement.

In court, Britney slammed the agreement by calling it “abusive” and even likened her life to “sex trafficking”, declaring she was “not a slave”.

She said: “I’ve done more than enough. I don’t owe these people anything.

“It’s embarrassing and demoralising what I have been through.

“I just want my life back. It’s been 13 years.”
