Inside Love Island Camilla Thurlow's life – Prince Harry fling to on-screen romp

True die-hard Love Island fans will most certainly remember the loveable Camilla Thurlow and her successful experience while on the show.

The reality star, who is originally from Dumfries, Scotland, initially had a rocky beginning on the programme, having had failed romances with Jonny Mitchell and Craig Lawson. But before the series came to an end, Camilla’s luck quickly changed.

Just like previous islanders such as Olivia and Alex Bowen and Cara de la Hoyde and Nathan Massey, Camilla warmed the nation’s hearts when she found love with Jamie Jewitt on the third series of Love Island back in 2017.

Since then, the couple have gone from strength to strength and even welcomed their first child together in October 2020.

So, to celebrate her 32nd birthday, Daily Star have taken a look at her life after Love Island and what she did for work before the show.

Before Love Island

Scottish lass Camilla was previously a Miss Edinburgh winner. But once her pageant days were over, she worked in a very specialist position, which made people question why she decided to venture into reality television.

Before entering the villa of love, Camilla worked for land and mine charity Halo in explosive ordnance disposal.

The star helped to dispose of landmines and explosives in countries including Mozambique and Afghanistan.

Last year, while appearing on ITV’s Lorraine, Camilla expressed that Love Island helped her to overcome social dislocation.

She explained: “I was struggling to process the events that I’d seen in the years preceding, and I was struggling to reconnect with my friends and family.

“So I couldn’t quite work out the best way to figure out my future, I couldn’t work out how to balance everything. I knew that I was working in something that I loved and felt passionate about, but equally I knew at that point that I wasn’t maintaining healthy relationships with friends and family at home.

“I was trying to figure out a balance between the two but I just felt very trapped in an incredibly negative mindset.”

Prince Harry ‘fling’

Believe it or not, Camilla’s dating history is quite impressive as she was once rumoured to have dated Prince Harry in 2014.

In 2017, speculation regarding her relationship with Harry started to emerge and Camilla refused to deny their romance when asked, but simply said: “A lady never tells.”

Sources at the time claimed that it was Camilla’s reservation that stopped the romance from blossoming as she was scared of being rejected.

In 2017, Camilla said: “I didn’t want my past relationships in the spotlight to upset having a future with someone. I am very happy with Jamie right now.

“It is nice that something that has happened in the past is in the past – I’ve had an opportunity to show people the person I am.”

Relationship with Jamie Jewitt

Camilla and Jamie are the only remaining couple from the third series of Love Island and have proven to fans that they were definitely both in it for the long run.

Jamie was a late entry into the show but quickly hit it off with Camilla, so much so that they ended up having sex on TV.

Speaking on her decision to have sex while the cameras were still rolling, Camilla said at the time: “The thought did cross my mind that having sex on TV would upset my work opportunities in the real world.

“But I wasn’t going to dwell on something that I couldn’t change and wouldn’t change.”

In 2019, Jamie, Camilla, along with their two puppies, found a house and moved in with each other.

Taking to Instagram at the time, the Scottish beauty said: “And we are in! Had such a fun day with @jamiejewitt_ picking up the keys for the house we have found to rent! Can’t wait to get it all sorted and move in properly with our two little puppies Audrey and Gus.”
