A Place in the Sun's Jasmine Harman wells up after guest's touching comment

A Place in the Sun host Jasmine Harman was moved to tears after hearing the guests’ touching thoughts while viewing a house in Portugal.

Couple Paul and Clare appeared on Friday’s Channel 4 programme as they told the presenter that they wanted to relocate to the sun-drenched hotspot with a budget of £120,000.

They became emotional when Jasmine showed them a spacious four-bedroom farmhouse with a vineyard and fruit trees spanning across four acres of land.

Jasmine threw in a suggestion that they could use rent out the ground floor as a one-bed apartment and keep the upper floor to themselves as a three-bed apartment.

“It’s up to you how you want to use it,” she told the couple. “I mean, what are you two thinking?”

Paul said: “There’s got to be a catch or an earthquake.

“It’s just too good to be true. Seriously opportunities like these just don’t happen to us. So that’s all the emotion you’re going to get out of me!”

Jasmine was touched by Paul’s comment and said: “You’re bringing a tear to my eye, Paul.”

While she wiped her tears away, the guest added: “Genuinely, it feels like a place we never thought we’d be able to get.”

At the end of the day, Paul and Clare still had their hearts set on the farmhouse property but they were not confident to put in an offer yet.

They wished to get a survey done on the establishment to rule out any structural work which needed to be done.

Jasmine tried her best to help the pair to secure an offer but was once again, turned down by Paul.

He explained their plan would be to return to Portugal in three week’s time and review the survey.

Jasmine did her best to persuade the couple to still put an offer down on the table to ensure they didn’t lose out.
