The Crown actress Gillian Anderson vows to never wear a bra again

The Crown actress Gillian Anderson, 52, has vowed to never wear a bra again.

The Emmy nominated star, who played the late Margaret Thatcher in the hit Netflix series, joked she doesn’t care if her breasts droop down low without support.

Speaking during an Instagram live session on Monday evening, the star answered a string of questions from her 1.8 million social media followers.

Keen to know about their idol’s life away from the camera, one supporter asked what her ‘go-to’ outfit was during lockdown.

With typically dry humour, the American star said: “It’s probably the same one as my out of lockdown outfit ‘I mean, I’ve gotten so lazy and I don’t wear a bra any more.

“I can’t wear a bra. I can’t, no, I can’t. I’m sorry.

“I don’t care if my breasts reach my belly button, I’m not wearing a bra any more. It’s just too f*****g uncomfortable.”

She added: “So yeah, comfortable black track pants and a matching hoodie. I’d wear that every day if I could.”

Earlier this week it was confirmed that The Crown has bag a staggering 24 nominations at this year’s Emmy Awards.

The feat matches that of The Mandalorian which also has 24 nods.

Olivia Colman has picked up a nomination for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II, as has Josh O’Connor for his role of Prince Charles.

Emma Corrin has also been nominated for her portrayal of the late Princess Diana.

Gillian herself has also been nominated in the category for Best Supporting Actress.

Despite being a streaming hit for Netflix, the latest series of The Crown has been met with controversy for fictional retellings of situations.

Calls for a warning to be placed at the start of each episode have so far fallen on deaf ears with Netflix bosses.

It is thought the show will end after a couple more series – around the 2000s mark.
