Former glamour model Katie Price unveiled her new face to fans last week after she had underwent a variety of cosmetic procedures in Turkey during the month of June.
But now a doctor has given their insight from a medical perspective regarding the star’s surgery and the amount of time it is expected to take to heal.
Doctor Savaş Altan, a medical aesthetician at Vera Clinic believes mother-of-five Katie should wait at least six weeks to heal the wounds from her recent plastic surgery.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, Doctor Altan said: “The initial surgery will typically take around two weeks to heal, but Katie should wait six weeks before returning to normal daily activities – especially if Katie wants to do exercise or anything that overexerts her body.
“Every surgery and situation is unique, so each individual should consult with their surgeon about their personal recovery plan as different bodies heal at a different rates.”
Although Katie, 43, managed to do her surgery relatively quickly, Dr Altan also believes that people should still think before they decide to go under the knife or to have filler injected.
He continued: “Filler or surgery should be thoroughly thought through before deciding to go ahead, and isn’t something that should be rushed into.
“Side effects need to be considered before going under the knife; scarring and bruising, numbness and tingling are all risks.
Dr Altan also spoke about the adverse affects from cosmetic procedures: “The potential for nerve damage is present in many different types of surgical procedures, too.
“As with any surgery, some blood loss is expected, and uncontrolled blood loss can lead to a drop in blood pressure. These things are potentially life threatening, so it’s imperative you go to a qualified, experienced surgeon who you trust if you’re considering surgery.”
Again Dr Altan warned about the potential dangers that can occur from certain procedures.
“Getting fillers is something that should be thoroughly thought through, and never a rash decision. Your lips and nose contain many blood vessels, meaning the procedure isn’t a simple one, and should always be carried out by a professional with a medical degree and expertise,” he explained.
In June, reality star Katie went under the knife and had full body liposuction, eye and lip lifts, liposuction under her chin, and fat injected into her bum.
Last week, Katie appeared on Good Morning Britain to reveal the results of her new face after her painfully agonising surgery.
The blonde bombshell travelled to Turkey with her partner Carl Woods, which is currently on the red list.
Talking to GMB presenters Susanna Reid and Alastair Campbell about her surgery, Katie said: “I’ve had full body lipo. I had some of my own fat put in my bum and now my mum says, ‘Oh my god, your bum looks like a shelf now, we’re going to put all the glasses on there.’ I’m like, ‘Whatever, mum.’
“She says, ‘It sticks out, looks like a shelf.’ And I’m like, ‘Mum, I’m still swollen’ and she’s like, ‘It looks ridiculous.'”
Katie then informed the GMB hosts and viewers she still hasn’t healed fully and has stitches under her nose after having a lip lift.
She told the presenters: “I’ve tried fillers in my lips and I look like a duck, I hate that look. I’ve been there, done it, tried it, don’t like it, had them dissolved. So the lip lift, they cut here [points under nose], so it lifts it a bit here.”
