Coronation Street fans have cheered recently as young footballer James seemed to be getting his happy ever after.
The gay footballer has just come out at press conference, to a positive reaction.. He’s also reunited with boyfriend Danny Tomlinson, played by Dylan Brady.
However, Corrie spoilers have revealed that everything changes when James, played by Nathan Graham, and brother Michael (Ryan Russell) are targeted by a corrupt police officer.
Next week, Michael and James test drive a sports car after James is offered £30,000 for an interview. A police car pulls them over and when James challenges the officer on why he pulled them over, the officer arrests James for obstruction and handcuffs him.
Things go from bad to worse when James then trips and injures his leg.
Craig (Colson Smith) rounds the corner to see James in agony. Michael’s insists that they’re victims of an unprovoked racist attack.

In the hospital, an inconsolable James is convinced his career is over.
James returns home on crutches. Michael tries again to persuade James to make a complaint, but he refuses.
Michael and James are shocked to learn that thanks to James’ local celebrity status, someone filmed their arrest. With the video posted online, James accepts they should make a formal complaint to the police.
The arresting officer PC Brody confides in Craig that James and Michael have lodged a formal complaint and accused him of racism.
In the police station, PC Brody sidles up to Craig and asks him not to mention the fact that he thought James’s driving was fine and didn’t warrant being pulled over.
Young PC Tinker faces a moral dilemma as he must choose between doing the right thing or keeping quiet. What will he do?
While Michael waits for news on his brother’s recovery, Grace (Kate Spencer) reveals that she’s re-launched his website to include the baby-grows. She suggests that she and Michael go upstairs.
After spending the night together, Grace is loved up. Where will she and Michael go from here?
Meanwhile in the hospital, James wakes from his operation. Will he be able to play for his beloved Weatherfield County ever again?
