Coronation Street fans were left stunned on Wednesday, as Kelly Neelan explained the ‘mystery’ of her eyebrow scar.
Kelly’s right eyebrow has proved a conundrum since she joined the soap, as it features a slight cut in the hairline which separates two sections of the brow.
On Wednesday, Kelly finally explained how she got it during a police interview in prison, joined by foster dad Imran.
Kelly had reported her mum Laura for child cruelty, after she tried to sell the story of Kelly’s involvement in Seb Franklin’s murder to the papers.
And it emerged that her mum had assaulted her physically when the pair were living together.

Kelly explained that her mum had given her the scar when she hit her.
“She gave me this scar,” Kelly told the police officer questioning her about the claims. “That was the day she had a fat rock on her finger.”
Kelly told the officer how her mum would bring different men home, admitting: “My dad was a proper piece of work, but he loved me. Which is more than I can say for her.”

Fans were left gobsmacked by Kelly’s admission, taking to social media to reflect on the mystery being solved.
“Kelly explaining how she got her scar!” someone commented, as another followed up: “So it’s confirmed Kelly’s eyebrow is a scar! #Corrie.”
Another added: “The mystery of Kelly’s eyebrow has been solved.”
“Everyone who said Kelly shaved through her eyebrow as a fashion statement!” a fourth fan posted, with a GIF of Homer Simpson walking quietly backwards into a bush in shame.

Someone else remarked on how difficult the ordeal of being in prison while dealing with the abuse she’d suffered, commenting: “Kelly has opened up about her child abuse. I feel sorry for her.”
Another fan followed up: “Kelly didn’t stand a chance with her childhood!”
Kelly actress Millie Gibson has opened up in the past about the real reason she got the scar, which was the result of an accident during her childhood.
Though some fans were certain she’d shaved it to give Kelly an edge, Millie explained: “It is a scar and my dad always gets very frustrated about comments like that because people go ‘she’s put it on herself’ and my dad’s like, ‘no, she’s not!’
“When I was younger – I was about two or three – there’s one of my pictures where I look like a right thug!
“I was running through this barn and I whacked my head on the corner of the banister and apparently my head was massive and it’s never really healed by I kind of like it! It definitely works for the character!” she added.
