Holly Willoughby savaged Piers Morgan after he suggested working together on GMB

Holly Willoughby previously took a cheeky swipe at former Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan after he suggested that they should host the breakfast programme together.

Holly, 40, put her point across directly to the outspoken presenter via text, making sure he understood that any plans of them presenting together was non-existent.

In his latest column for the Mail, Piers, 56, revealed that he once came across a magazine article that said: “Holly & Piers – can they save GMB?”

This lead him to text Holly and ask her opinions were on them joining forces.

Piers jokingly penned: “I want the biggest dressing room.”

But Dancing On Ice Holly shut him down abruptly and replied: “You can have it. I won’t be there.”

Piers then replied: “I wouldn’t hold your breath for this particular TV dream team.”

Father-of-four Piers and Holly have had a love hate relationship for a number years.

Piers has often mocked the the This Morning presenter for her squeaky-clean television appearance and for the fact that she has won more awards than he has.

Earlier this year, Holly and her This Morning co-host Philip Schofield got their own back on Piers after they made a cheeky jibe at his expense during an episode of Dancing on Ice.

But unfortunately their comments wasn’t received well by outspoken Piers.

Following on from his explosive exit from Good Morning Britain March, Piers did mention that Holly was the first to contact him about his departure.

Holly suggested that Piers should book himself onto a £249 mediation course which would help the presenter with managing difficult situations, “nailing interviews” and “making hangovers less horrible.”

But Piers dismissed Holly’s kind gesture at the time as said: “I’d even get my own personal meditation sound to repeat softly in my head! This would apparently all ensure I am ‘no longer ruled by my emotions.

“Problem is that I can’t imagine anything more boring than not being ruled by my emotions.”

Momentarily, Piers is recovering from coronavirus which he claimed he contracted the from England versus Italy Euros 2020 football final at Wembley last month.

The star described his symptoms as being “the worst week of my adult life”.

Despite this, Piers has still been causing havoc online as he’s taken to Twitter to express his views on the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Taking to Twitter, Piers said: “Are ‘mental health issues’ now the go-to excuse for any poor performance in elite sport? What a joke.

“Just admit you did badly, made mistakes, and will strive to do better next time. Kids need strong role models not this nonsense.”
