Love Island's Amber Gill feared being kidnapped after men followed her at night

Amber Gill has spoken about how she feared she would be kidnapped after men followed her down a street at night.

The Love Island star opened up on Instagram about the incident, which left her heart “beating fast.”

But Amber was forced on the defensive as fans accused her of being “rude” to the men following her.

She explained: “I felt a bit bad for being mean BUT my heart was beating FAST for what??? For nothing. Like I thought we were getting kidnapped and my guy says ‘we just wanted to chat’.

“Just leave girls alone. Especially at night. I promise it’s not the time or the place to chat or [hit] on someone,” she added.

“There are plenty of places to meet girls, following them at night is not it.”

Amber later shared some screenshots from messages she’d received from some of her 2.6million followers, one of which read: “It’s not all men though, there is a lot of them out there but not all men are disrespectful pr*cks.”

Another said: “Men don’t have a sense of entitlement, certain people think they do. You’re just as bad as those guys for taking to your social media and ranting like all men are like this. You’re just as bad imo.”

Amber wasn’t having their excuses, penning: “Honestly if you come with the ‘not all men’ energy you may as well just say you like to harass girls in the dead of night.”

The star went on: “If you are more outraged by me saying ‘men’ instead of girls actually feeling scared to walk alone and not feeling safe and feeling in danger when they see men then you are part of the problem.

“I will say men because I don’t want any girl to be naive enough to trust anyone yelling at them in the street because ‘not all men’ are like that.”

Another message read: “Can men not be friendly and looking out for women at the same time? Not every man who speaks to a girl is a weirdo.”

Amber simply replied: “No, men can’t be friendly when there is a big group of them and 1 or 2 girls, it’s weird.

“If you are trying to make friends go to a social event not in the middle of a street at night.

“If you want to look out for a woman don’t follow her or talk to her just make sure she gets where she needs to go while you can see her.”

Love Island 2019 winner Amber has been having her say on the events in the villa this year, and, speaking on Lorraine, discussed how she was “gutted” by Liam Reardon’s behaviour.

Liam strayed in Casa Amor with new babe Lillie, leaving Millie Court devastated.

Amber said: “Honestly, that’s what I’m most gutted about as I love them two together. I thought they were the strongest!”

She said Liam has “done too much”, and it’s “too late” for the couple to salvage their relationship.
