Love Island stars’ jobs before entering the villa from working at Nando's to PE teacher

While the Love Island stars are sure to go on to secure blue ticks, brand deals and a whole host of fame and fortune once they leave the villa, it’s easy to forget that before that they are regular people.

The Islanders enjoyed regular lives and normal day-to-day jobs before joining the cast of the hit ITV2 show, working as labourers, young professionals and often models.

Some of them may even return to their jobs once they have been dumped from the villa, as many have done in the past.

We take a look at the day jobs of the love-seeking singletons from before they arrived in the villa.

When she’s not studying for her marketing degree at the University of Birmingham, Liberty worked as a waitress at Nando’s.

The Brummie beauty has worked their since 2016 and she admitted that she’s had many strange experiences at her job including a marriage proposal.

“It was a bit unexpected! He was on his own, he’d come into the restaurant every week and he got down on one knee and was like, ‘Will you marry me?’ the Love Island star confessed.

“But in his hand, it was a charity support badge not a diamond ring or nothing. So I was thinking, that’s one way of saying I’m a charity case when it comes to love!”

Teddy Soares

It seems Teddy has been gifted with both brains and good looks as he left quite an impressive career behind to be on Love Island.

According to LinkedIn the 26-year-old works as a Senior Consultant for a financial firm in Manchester.

In his bio he describes his job: “I arrange straight forward funding solutions for Professional and Corporate businesses across the UK. Offering an excellent alternative to your daily banking routes without tying up your existing facilities.”

It will come as less of a surprise to learn that prior to that he worked as a model for Abercrombie and Fitch for three years in 2011.

Kaz Kamwi

(Image: Instagram)

Working as a fashion blogger and influencer, Kaz is one of the few islanders with a career that might come in handy for life after Love Island.

The stylish star will already be used to working with brands and making sponsored Instagram posts.

She’s already worked with big brands like Primark and Boohoo and even had her own clothing range with SkinnyDip.

Jake Cornish

Before entering the villa and falling for Liberty, Jake worked as a water engineer.

The 24-year-old’s job involved being responsible for the supply of clean water, the disposal of wastewater and sewage and the prevention of flood damage.

When asked about his job, the islander from Weston-Super-Mare said that he is a “jack of all trades”, adding: “I’m basically a handyman.”

Faye Winter

Faye worked as a Lettings Manager

Faye worked as a Lettings Manager before she entered the villa and “does valuations, wins business for the company and the odd viewing.”

“I absolutely love it! I’ve actually only taken a sabbatical from work because in my ideal world, I’d love to go back to work,” the 26-year-old explained.

She added: “I try to make it as Selling Sunset as possible. I’m definitely there in the mini dresses, boobs out, bum out, turning up and you can see the wives say to their husband, ‘You’re staying outside’. It’s so fun.”

Liam Reardon

Before he arrived to break hearts in the villa, Liam was out working as a bricklayer in his home county.

Millie’s job is very fitting to the Islander, as she worked as a Fashion Buyer’s Administrator before joining the ITV2 show.

Opening up about her job in her entrance interview, she said: “I’ve been a buyer’s assistant for three years. I love my job. It’s all involved with fashion. I studied fashion at university.

Luckily for Toby Aromolaran his job outside the villa did not require much brainpower.

Instead the 22-year-old is a semi-professional footballer who plays for Hashtag United – a newly formed team set up in 2016 by football YouTuber Spencer Owen Carmichael-Brown and his brother.

He revealed: “I’ve played football since I was about six, but it’s really come into a new light for the past year since I joined a team called Hashtag United.

“Playing with them has really made me fall in love with the game again.”

Outside of the villa, Chloe worked as a Financial Services Marketing Executive.

The 25-year-old hit the headlines when she admitted that she was “partial to married men” at work.

She confessed that there weren’t as many hotties in The City as one would think saying: “You would really think there were fit men in The City but there really aren’t most of them are married or have girlfriends, I mean they’re off-limits but they’re not really off-limits.”

Sadly it doesn’t look like Hugo has a job to fall back on, as a PE teacher at Blundell’s School in Devon.

The 24-year-old’s former school confirmed that he wouldn’t be returning to teach after his stint on reality TV.

The school released a statement to the Daily Star to discuss his continued placement with them.

“Mr. Hammond was here on a very short placement during his teacher training in the Spring Term,” a representative said.

“He was not employed by the school.”

There’s a big clue to Abigail’s job in her appearance – she’s a tattoo artist in Bournemouth.

The 27-year-old revealed: “I got my apprenticeship when I was 18. I was at uni at the time and I dropped out to become a tattooist – my mum was livid! I’ve been doing it now for eight years.

“Most of my tattoos are done by other people but I’ve got a portrait of my dog on my leg which I did myself. I’ve got loads of little stamps on my other ankle of things which are memories of things that have happened in my life, where I want to dedicate the moment,” she added

Sam Jackson

Despite being left alone at the recouping after last night’s episode, at least the 23-year-old has a steady job to fall back on in the outside world.

The Islander worked as a maintenance engineer before arriving in Casa Amor.

His day job sees him “fixing machines on a huge scale, day-to-day doing different stuff. Getting down and dirty with it”.

Before Amy arrived to finally couple up with unlucky-in-love Islander Hugo, she woke as a Surrey-based performer.

Many fans have suspected the stunner of using her acting skills to bag a place in the villa, by only pretending to be interested in Hugo.

Tyler Cruickshank

The Islanders were surprised to find out that Tyler works as an estate agent outside of the villa.

The 26-year-old works in the same field as Faye and when asked who would win if they both had to sell the Majorca house said himself.

He said: “I would say me, you’ve got to back yourself. She looks like she’d have a really good pitch on her.”

From how we’ve seen him giving all the boys haircuts, it makes sense that Dale’s job in the real world is a barber.

The 24-year-old is self-taught saying that: “You need a lot of people to practise on and who don’t mind you giving them a bad haircut.”

He added: “There was a quite well-known barbers in Glasgow that I wanted to shadow and learn how these guys cut hair.
