Ben Shephard scolds GMB producers to 'cut off picture' after rude Olympic blunder

Ben Shephard demanded for a picture change while sternly warning Good Morning Britain chiefs that an Olympian had been using expletives.

The 46-year-old kicked off the show alongside his co-star Kate Garraway.

As they began to discuss the headlines for Wednesday’s programme he was stunned to see a shocking clip.

In the snippet that appeared on the screens, Team GB’s Keely Hodgkinson was clearly stunned that she’d secured silver at the Tokyo Olympics in the 800 meter sprint.

Flabbergasted Keely flashed up but it was easy to detect her choice of language.

Noticing the faux pas, Ben interjected: “Cut off that picture, she seems very surprised but we can all lip read.”

Later on in the show, Keely appeared on the breakfast programme and Ben and Kate couldn’t resist bringing up her bad language.

Ben and Kate later interviewed Keely on the programme

Kate said: “I’m going to say to you as I have to others flipping well done.

“And maybe you would like to say flipping more often because we can all lip read.

“What did your mum and dad say?”

Keely began to laugh as explained that her family also fortunately found the funny side.

Ben made the comment that there was no escaping her swearing either.

The Tipping Point host added: “You made headline in all the national papers with those three words.”

Kate asked the olympian who likes to go clubbing with friends if she’d been double jabbed.

The 19-year-old swerved the question, adding: “I haven’t really kept up with the vaccination process back home but I can’t wait to do the season and catch up with friends.”
