Kaz Kamwi’s friends and family have spoke out to protect the Love Island star after they’d received “vulgar racist abuse” on her social media account.
Those responsible for Kaz’s digital platform’s issued a harsh warning to “be kind” after receiving hateful messages.
Her family chose not to expose online users or unveil what had been sent, however they made it clear that racial abuse would not be tolerated.
The post read: “Morning guys, Kaz’s family and friends here.
“We understand that a lot of you love watching the show and that people will have differing opinions.
“However, this does not excuse the vulgar racist abuse we have been receiving on her account.
“Please remember to always #bekind.”
Since taking action, Kaz’s family have updated on the matter.
“Just wanted to say a massive thank you to all of you who showed love and support yesterday in light of the abuse Kaz’s account has been receiving.
“We’re so overwhelmed with the amount of lovely messages you’ve been sending through.
“We hope everyone will enjoy the last few weeks of the show,” said the responding message that appeared on Kaz’s story.
It isn’t the first time in the 2021 series that family members have had to speak out to prevent nasty trolls from issuing disgusting comments to their loved ones.
Earlier in the month, Chloe Burrows family were flooded with death threats after she’d made her move with Toby Aromolaran.
At the time, the professional footballer had been coupled up with Kaz who had proved to be quite popular with viewers at home.
Fans therefore wanted Chloe to leave the Spanish villa at the next given opportunity, however she dodged the bullet and angry abusers took to their keyboards to wish her dead.
Chloe’s family issued a hard-hitting statement that referenced the deaths of former contestants Sophie Gradon, who was found dead aged 32 in June 2018; Mike Thalassitis, who took his own life in March 2019 aged 26; and show host Caroline Flack, who took her own life at the age of 40 last year.
It read: “Have the deaths of Sophie, Mike, and Caroline taught us nothing?
“Not only that, but people are flooding her inbox threatening to kill her themselves. People… this is a GAME show, there is a cash prize!
“We understand the frustration surrounding @shannonsinghh’s eviction – we feel it too!
“She didn’t deserve to leave so early but Chloe does not deserve to DIE because Shannon had to leave the villa! She will have had no idea of the repercussions of her decisions prior to making it.
“We are not naive. We know that this post won’t put an end to trolling.
“All the advice we get is to ‘ignore it’ and ‘block the trolls’, sometimes it’s not that easy. Our hope is that this just reminds some of you #BeKind x.”
