Emmerdale actor Reece Dinsdale is best known to fans for his recent role as Paul Ashdale in the long-running ITV soap.
Reece’s character Paul joined the show in 2020 and was involved in several hard hitting story lines. But his acting spell was short lived when he was killed off a year later in an explosion.
Even though his character didn’t last very long in the Dales, many fans may be unaware that the actor still has a very close family connection to the acting world.
The 62-year-old who is originally from Normanton is married to Northern Ireland actress Zara Turner. The couple share two children named Elwy and Luca.
Zara has appeared on several popular TV shows and films over the years including comedy-drama Sliding Doors alongside Hollywood legends Gwyneth Paltrow and John Hannah.
The star has also starred in ITV’s The Bill in 2009 and BBC One’s The Body Farm in 2011, as well as comedy film On the Nose with actors Dan Aykroyd and Robbie Coltrane.
Not only this, but Zara has also popped up in Father Ted, McCallum, Any Time Now, Midnight Man and The Brief.
Emmerdale star Reece previously wrote the short film Imaginary Friend in 2009 which which stars Maxine Peake and his wife Zara.
The film premiered in the UK on May 8, 2010.
But although Reece only had a small stint in the Dales, his acting credits are equally as impressive.
The father-of-two has appeared opposite Julie Walters in the ITV drama Ahead of the Class and played the character Robert in Conviction for the BBC.
Before playing his role in Emmerdale as Vinny’s father, the actor also starred in Coronation Street playing the role of Joe McIntyre.
Joe was introduced to the soap as the father of Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan) who went on to marry Gail Platt (Helen Worth).
Joe’s character had issues with money in the soap and often had problems paying off his debts.
Sadly, Reece’s character was also killed off in Coronation Street too after he attempted to fake his own death.
Since leaving Emmerdale earlier this year, Reece revealed that he will continue working behind the scenes and will assist with directing on the weekly show.
