EastEnders’ Ian Beale and Max Branning actors have reunion on break from BBC soap

EastEnders stars Adam Woodyatt and Jake Wood met up for a sweet reunion while on break from the BBC One soap.

Adam, who plays fan-favourite Ian Beale, has been written out of the show as he takes a break after starring on the show for the past 35 years.

Jake played Max Branning on the popular series and exited the show in February in an explosive storyline that saw his character shunned from Albert Square.

The 49-year-old is currently starring on stage in 2:22 A Ghost Story opposite Lily Allen, and Adam went along to show his support for his friend.

Jake took to Instagram to share a selfie of the pair, with the both of them sporting beards and moustaches, with an excited Adam holding up his coffee in cheers as they beamed in a cafe.

Captioning the sweet snap, he wrote: “This legend came to see me in @222aghoststory last night. We had a great night.

“Enjoy your tour in @peterjamesonstage @adamwoodyatt. Can’t wait to see it.”

Adam took to the comments to reply, saying: “You and your colleagues smashed it last night. @222aghoststory was fantastic with a brilliant script and direction.

“Would come and see it again if I could.”

The snap is the second this month from the soap duo, after they took an impromptu selfie after bumping into each other at London’s Kings Cross station.

Meanwhile, Adam has warned fans that he may not return to his iconic role in EastEnders.

The 53-year-old is on an “extended break” from the soap at the moment and confessed his return was not a done deal.

He told the Metro in July: “I won’t be going back until this time next year at the absolute earliest.

“I’m committed to touring with Looking Good Dead until the end of October. I’m then going to America because my daughter is getting married.

“Then hopefully we’re going to pick the tour up and do some of the venues that were originally planned but that we hadn’t managed to get to. That’s likely to be January to April.”

Jake on the other hand, is reportedly hoping to join the next cast of I’m A Celeb.

Sources told The Sun last month: “He would love to go into the jungle.

“He thinks it would be a great challenge for him and he has of course seen how well other EastEnders stars have done on the series.”
