Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen praised by co-star over Ravenseat 'battle'

Amanda Owen has been praised by Channel 5 co-star Kate Humble amid her tough “battle” with managing her Ravenseat farm.

Channel 5 presenter Kate Humble has spoken out on the Our Yorkshire Farm shepherdess – and revealed how “hard-working” she’s been with managing her famous TV farm in Yorkshire.

Kate, who is the host of A Country Life for Half The Price, said that the show is so successful and popular due to it being “absolutely authentic”.

The presenter opened up about how tough Amanda’s job of managing the Ravenseat farm is – and that it’s not just for the cameras, either.

This is because she’s spotted Amanda out in the fields “doing battle” against the elements during the harsh winter months as she tries to maintain her gorgeous farm.

She told the Express: “It’s so popular because it is absolutely authentic.

“This is a hard-working woman with her family showing what life is like farming up in the Yorkshire Dales.

“People think, ‘Oh how lovely’ but we see her out in the depths of winter doing battle in the snow and the mud, things lambing where they shouldn’t and all that kind of thing.

“She gives a huge understanding and appreciation of the job that she and her family do.”

Kate went on to say that Amanda is honest, down-to-earth and is a “wonderful” parent.

She was delighted that Amanda allows her kids to have extraordinary kinds of freedoms and a sense of responsibility on the farm.

She added that viewers at home can easily think that what’s shown on a television show is not real or has been set up.

However, she pointed out that Our Yorkshire Farm is a “true documentary”, and that audiences love the show because they appreciate when they get a genuine insight and genuine experience of a way of life.

Our Yorkshire Farm is available to watch on My 5, and A Country Life for Half the Price with Kate Humble continues on Tuesday on Channel 5 at 8pm.
