Prince Harry responds to Orlando Bloom's brutal portrayal of him in The Prince

Prince Harry has apparently had the perfect response to Orlando Bloom’s portrayal of him in HBO cartoon The Prince.

The controversial animated cartoon that depicts the royal family has come under fire for being too close to the line.

The cartoon, which is from Prince George’s perspective, has been rather brutal towards The Duchess of Sussex and former Hollywood actress Meghan Markle, and her husband Prince Harry.

Orlando Bloom provided the voiceover for the prince as he expressed confusion over his tiny “apartment palace” in LA, during the cartoon.

Harry might not have spoken publicly about the programme and Orlando’s portrayal of him, but the show’s creator Gary Janetti, has hinted that Harry has given it all a heads up, insisting that the royal was fine with it all.

Gary opened up when he appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen recently.

Gary said: “I don’t know if Harry has said anything to Orlando about it, but I know before the show premiered, he was aware that Orlando was doing it.”

Orlando and his fiancée Katy Perry are believed to be rather friendly with their new LA neighbours Meghan and Harry, who are fresh out of Frogmore Cottage.

Orlando has even previously spoken about taking on the controversial role.

Orlando, who recently welcomed his first baby girl with his wife-to-be Katy Perry told The Hollywood Reporter : “It’s not malicious or intended to be.”

He then spoke of his wife-to-be and what she thought of the programme: “Actually Katy saw one bit of it and was like, ‘You’ve got to do this. This is genius’.

Orlando added: “And the animation is done by some of the guys who did Family Guy, so it’s going to be very amusing. And who doesn’t love the royal family?”

The Hollywood actor also opened up to the Daily Telegraph recently, where he said that the show is “actually quite tender”.

Orlando was asked about what he thinks the royals might think of the show, to which he replied: “I don’t know. If they appreciate satire, they might [enjoy it]…

“It’s quite tender, actually – my character with George, it’s a really lovely relationship. It’s not as mean as people think.”

But several critics of the HBO show have said that Prince William and Kate Middleton’s eight-year-old son should have been off limits, implying that the show shouldn’t have been allowed to air.

The American programme focuses on being a royal through Prince George’s eyes

Royal commentator Russell Myers appeared on ITV’s Lorraine to express his opinion on the animated show The Prince.

Myers said that the people behind the show may have “gone down the wrong track” as he questioned whether the programme is even funny.

He said: “It’s called The Prince, it’s about Prince George, it uses all the names of the royal family. Now, whether children should be off limits is a big debate and I mean one thing, I don’t personally think it’s that funny.”
