Coronation Street's Enid Dunn 'in tears' as good samaritan returns missing purse

Coronation Street star Enid Dunn has revealed she “cried” after her missing purse was returned.

The Bury-based actress has donned a number of roles on the ITV soap over the years and posting to Facebook on Saturday, revealed a goodhearted stranger returned her purse to an Aldi store in Rawtenstall after she lost it at a packing station while shopping.

“A big thank you to the person who handed in my purse at Aldi in Rawtenstall this afternoon I had foolishly left it on the packing station,” Enid wrote on social media.

Revealing that she didn’t realise her purse was missing until she reached a local garden centre, Enid added: “Of course I was in such a panic.

She later told local press that as well as everyday items, the purse also had great sentimental value as it contained a “keepsake” note from Enid’s mother which she has possessed for almost half a century.
