Richard Bacon brutally cut off on GMB as producers issue him stern warning on air

Richard Bacon and Kate Garraway received a telling off from Good Morning Britain producers, asking if they can “read the clock” and understand time after Richard, 45, waffled.

He had been musing about the treatment of animals, going off on a tangent saying he doesn’t “understand humans” when the producers apparently spoke into Kate Garroway’s earpiece telling them to hurry up.

Kate, 54, interrupted him with a message from behind the scenes, saying “The producer says do you understand time? Can you read the clock? Because we do need to move on a little bit if that’s alright.”

Fortunately Richard saw the funny side.

“Well, I’ll tell you what, Richard, you and I’ll have a little chat while we take a quick break, about the nature of human psyche” suggested Kate.

“Rambling on!” laughed former Blue Peter presenter Richard.

He joked about his choice of words too.

“What I don’t understand about humans… which I realise is a dramatic statement!” he laughed at himself.

“That couldn’t be a bigger statement, that means I don’t understand life.”

Kate humoured him, exclaiming: “I love the fact that you’re exploring that.”

“The big headline is here is I don’t understand humans,” Richard added, realising what he’d said.

Kate hooted laughing: “Richard Bacon doesn’t understand humans.”

He was talking about Geronimo the alpaca’s plight, who needs to be put down.

Richard said he didn’t understand how people are upset about him, but then go home and eat a burger or eat meat.

The producers were heard laughing off camera as he was told off, to check the time as they were going to be late for the break.

GMB airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
