Love Island Jake and Liberty confirm show exit leaving fans devastated

Love Island ‘s Liberty Poole and Jake Cornish confirmed their exit from the villa in Friday night’s episode as they continued in their decision that they would split.

Liberty told the fellow islanders that the pair would be leaving the villa tonight as they didn’t want to take up a place surrounded by strong couples.

She said their relationship had “fallen apart” adding that she didn’t want to “drain the life” out of her friends’ relationships as her pals were left in tears.

Liberty and the girls headed off for one final chat on the roof terrace before she left the villa as the lads shared their love for Jake prior to their exit.

Kaz was getting incredibly teary as she said her goodbyes and told Liberty how proud of her she was, adding: “You deserve the world and everything more and I swear that is going to happen for you.”

Liberty added: “This wasn’t the experience I thought it was going to be and it’s fine, that’s okay.”

The beauty said: “I don’t think Jake is a bad person I just don’t think he was in love with me, and that’s okay.”

Before Liberty left, Faye told her that her perfect man is waiting for her, adding: “He’s probably in your DMs.”

While the islanders were left gutted about both Liberty and Jake’s exit, viewers were sad to see the only original couple split and leave the villa.

Taking to Twitter, one user wrote: “That was so emotional. I felt emotional for Liberty.”

Another added: “Liberty and the girls had me tearing up.”

A third person wrote: “I’m not crying, you are! Liberty is by far the most precious person to come out of Love Island.”

Jake and Liberty were originally tipped to win the show, but after a series of obstacles, cracks started to show.

The final will now see Millie and Liam, Chloe and Toby, Kaz and Tyler and Faye and Teddy up for the public vote to see who is crowned the winner of Love Island 2021.

Love Island continues on Sunday on ITV2 at 9pm.
