Inside James Corden's epic 35lbs weight loss after wanting to 'be better' for kids

The Late Late Show’s James Corden has been speaking about his successful health and fitness journey ever since he joined WW as a spokesperson at the beginning of the year, resulting in a total 35 pounds weight loss.

The 42-year-old LA-based Brit reportedly struggled with his weight for several years, before signing up with dieting company WW back in January, formerly known as Weight Watchers.

The dad-of-three joined the program as a result of being “fed up” with the way he looked and being unhealthy.

While starting his wellness journey at the beginning of the year, James was featured on WW’s official YouTube page delivering some encouraging news.

He was filmed saying: “I’ve realised that every year for the past decade, probably even 15 years, on January 1 I’ve told myself and anyone that would listen that I’m going on a diet, I’m going to lose a load of weight.”

The television star, who rose to popularity after the success of his Carpool Karaoke series, has since stuck to his program, consequently continuously showing progress.

According to Page Six, James had lost 16lbs in February and told Us Weekly: “I’ve really found this past five weeks like I’m on the start of a journey that I’m determined to finish, and I feel that I can.”

The award-winning actor saw his new path to weight loss come as a welcome break, seeing as he has successfully made tremendous improvements since he had first seriously started his dieting program in January.

As of April, James had lost 20 pounds since the start of January 2021.

The comedian confirmed that he wanted to change the way he lived in order to become better for his children and family.

He said: “I don’t want to wake up tired, or feel embarrassed when I’m chasing my son on the soccer field and I’m out of breath after three minutes.

James said that he was fighting the stigma of men dieting because the stereotype seeing men ” “drinking beer and going out”

“The weight is not the issue, it’s the wellness of it I am ready to tackle.”

Nevertheless, James’ journey saw the presenter struggling for years prior to committing to one specific program as he revealed back in February that he had been resisting dieting for years because of the stigma surrounding men and dieting.

Speaking to Oprah Winfrey, he explained: “As a man, it’s historically seen as not very sexy to say that you’re on a diet, or it’s not very manly somehow to want to make changes in your own health.”

The TV host finally admitted to combat the stereotype of “men drinking beer and going out” as he had replaced it with a new version of sexy which, according to James, focuses on becoming healthier.

Back in May, while appearing on Zoe Ball’s BBC Radio 2’s show The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show, James confessed on trying multiple diets before figuring out what was really working for him.

He said: “This is my tip, and I’m not, for one minute, saying that I’ve cracked this, but I’ve done every single diet in the world.

“I’ve done them all what I’ve realised is the notion of going on a diet is wrong.

“You’re not going on a diet, you’re gonna change the way you eat and you’re gonna change the way you eat forever.

“Just see this as this is how you eat now.”

The Cats actor went on to reveal that he used to have a bad habit of going on a crash diet every January.

“By April, any progress I had made at the beginning of the year was already out the window,” James said.

He revealed that his WW program made it possible for him to eat what he loved, and that the company’s phone app helped him stay focused on his eating habit.

Most recently, James was photographed showing his amazing physique while picking up a cup of iced coffee in London.

The photo, which was taken at the beginning of this summer, saw James wearing a casual tracksuit looking significantly slimmer.

James’ snap came after appearing on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show were he admitted he hated working out.

Despite not being fond of physical activity and exercise, the CBS star did reveal that he had felt better since shedding 35 pounds off.

He also confessed that his health and dieting journey was far from over.

“I feel like there’s still a way to go,” James said.

Carpool Karaoke fans can look forward to a new series as James’ popular singing show has been renewed for a fifth season to air on Apple TV+.

The music-loving host will undoubtedly surprise new celebrities with his singing skills and new energised personality while flaunting his improved healthy figure.
