Love Island's Abigail Rawlings says show producers 'tortured them' with the time

Stunning tattoo artist Abigail Rawlings may not have found romance in the Love Island villa, but she loved her time there – apart from being rushed to get ready by show producers.

Abigail, 27, recalled how the girls manage to look beautiful every night despite not having much time to prepare.

“I think viewers would be really surprised by how weird the time is in there”, Abigail exclusively told Daily Star.

“The producers are really strict with time. We don’t have the time on our phones, there’s no clocks, so the producers would say ‘right girls, you have an hour to get ready’ and that was that,” she recalled.

Abi didn’t believe the producers told the truth about the time

“It was a mad panic! There was seven of us trying to get ready and all wanting showers, plus the boys kept trying to use our shower too.”

Not having access to clocks meant the Islanders were at the mercy of the producers telling the truth: “They’d say our hour started now, then next thing you know they’re telling you there’s half an hour left, when there was no way that much time had passed.

“I was like ‘you’re lying!’ We don’t have a clock so they can actually tell us whatever they want. But I’m sure that they played with us, just for fun. Just for the s**** and giggles.”

She laughed: “The amount of times we’d be saying to them – just tell us you hate us. Get out of the way!”

Abi continued: “They were so strict. If they said you had to go downstairs, you had to go. Even if you only had one lash on, they say ‘go!’, there’s no compromise.

“Viewers at home think we all look great but they don’t see how mad it is, it looks so chilled on TV!

“Every night it’s very stressful, it’s a crazy time, everyone’s running around like a headless chicken changing their outfit every few minutes,” laughed the tattooist.

It wasn’t just getting ready that took place at strange times, either.

“I didn’t walk in [as a bombshell] until 2am and then we were up for hours after that. We were woken up at certain times and sometimes you could tell it was a lot later in the day, so we must have gone to bed really late last night.”

Abi recalled another time she didn’t feel like producers were telling the truth: “It felt like we only had five minutes sleep sometimes, the lights would go on and we’d all be like ‘how is it time already? Like, you’re lying to us.’ You’re telling us we’re lucky to be here when really you’re torturing us,” she laughed.

As for who will win? Despite being coupled up with Toby herself at one point, Abi is convinced that Chloe and Toby will be victorious.

“He honestly adores her. Obviously it was a surprise when he said Chloe to me, else I wouldn’t have shot myself in the foot, but as soon as he said he wanted her I was like right, let’s get you Chloe!” she added.

Love Island is on ITV2 at 9pm.
