It’s not all glitz and glamour being a movie star as Black Panther actress Letitia Wright discovered this week when she ended up in hospital after filming a stunt for Wakanda Forever – which went wrong.
The 27-year-old – who is reprising her role as Shuri – was involved in an “incident” with the stunt rig, which left her needing medical treatment.
A statement read: “Letitia Wright sustained minor injuries today while filming a stunt for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
“She is currently receiving care in a local hospital and is expected to be released soon.”
Plenty of our favourite stars earned their massive pay cheques by putting themselves on the line for the sake of their art as Daily Star discovers…
Kate Winslet
Kate Winslet chose not to wear a wetsuit underneath her frock when making Titanic causing her to go down with pneumonia after filming for long periods in cold water.
As her character Rose faced drowning in the sinking ship she nearly ended up a goner for real when her gown hooked on a gate leaving her fighting for air as she struggled to get to the surface.
Daniel Craig
One scene in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo saw Daniel Craig pretend to fall unconscious after his head was stuffed into a plastic bag.
He was given a metal object to hold, which would drop to the floor if he passed out for real.
When the director heard the clunk they realised the James Bond actor truly had stopped breathing and he was quickly taken down from the hoist.
Leonardo DiCaprio
Leonardo DiCaprio was injured twice during the making of Django Unchained.
The first time, as he smacked his hand on a dinner table a glass smashed and a piece was caught in his palm.
Leo carried on and the scene made the final cut.
He was also hurt when a real hammer dropped on his head – then replaced by a foam one for later scenes.
Sylvester Stallone
Ordering Dolph Lundgren to punch him as hard as possible during a fight scene in Rocky IV, the star ended up spending a number of days in intensive care.
His pericardial sac – a protective layer around the heart – was swollen so badly it started pressing against the organ it was meant to look after.
Sly also broke his neck while filming a fight scene with Steve Austin for The Expendables.
George Clooney
While on set of Syriana, George Clooney fell from a chair during a torture scene and suffered a spinal and head injury.
It was so bad that spinal fluid gushed out of his nose and he needed therapy after a hospital stay.
The actor still suffers from severe migraines as a result.
It turns out Hollywood life isn’t all so glitz and glam.
Jackie Chan
During the filming of Armour of God, Jackie Chan fell 25ft and cracked his skull.
He was supposed to jump from a castle wall on to a tree but missed and smashed his head on a rock.
A piece of bone went into his brain and had to be removed by surgeons.
He’s had a number of other on-set injuries, including broken bones, nearly losing an eye and and electric shocks.
Halle Berry
While being held down by Robert Downey Jr for a scene in Gothika, Berry struggled so hard to get away she broke the ulna bone in her forearm.
She was forced to take three weeks off and the noise of the crack was so loud they both heard it snap.
On top of that, she broke her ribs while filming her MMA movie Bruised – the same ribs she cracked while filming John Wick: Chapter 3!
Michael J Fox
For the third instalment of the Back To The Future movies, Fox’s character was strung up by a rope around his neck.
Unable to get his hand up in time, the star accidentally hung himself for more than 30 seconds before someone noticed he was in trouble for real and got him loose.
