Katie Price is hoping to jet off on a foreign holiday in order to “reset” following an alleged assault on her.
Mum-of-five Katie, 43, pulled out of her first public appearance since the alleged attack – after being due to appear at the British LGBT Awards on Friday.
It follows Katie receiving hospital treatment for an alleged assault which supposedly took place at a house in Essex in the early hours of Monday morning.
However, a source has insisted that the former glamour model is planning to return to work next week if she can – and is getting stronger and stronger every day.
The insider claimed that the reality star has been through “hell”, but she’s been supported by her family and friends who have been amazing.
A source told The Sun: “It’s been tough but day by day she is getting there now. Katie is strong and will come through this.
“Her management team have told her there’s no rush to return to work but Katie would like to get back to normal as quickly as she can and if she can get back to work for a bit next week she will.”
The source also revealed that Katie is thinking of escaping to a foreign destination next month to get some “time and space” following the alleged incident.
The source went on: “She’s also thinking about jetting off for a few days away next month to get some more time and space.”
The insider added that Katie is trying to “be kind to herself” and try to come to terms with what’s ‘happened’.
Essex police confirmed that a 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault, theft and coercive and controlling behaviour following the incident.
The man has since been released on bail pending further investigation.
The TV star went into hospital with a suspected fractured jaw and split lip – and since highlighted that she has bruising around her eye.
Discussing the alleged assault, Katie told The Sun: “I ran away after being punched.
“I’ve got a big bruise, my face is all puffy, and I went to hospital. I’m still all dazed. I’m devastated.”
“She added: “I’ve told police that I was assaulted, and am in shock that this happened.
“I ran away after being punched — I ran to Harvey’s house nearby and have now done damage to my feet, which I previously injured.”
A police spokesman added: “We have a duty of care to gather all evidence relating to this case and our inquiries continue”.
