Kirstie Allsopp's fiercest rants – Piers Morgan feud, 'Covid lies' to Gogglebox fury

While many of us often air our thoughts on social media, not everybody has a large following similar to that of celebrities.

This, however, doesn’t always work in their favour with our favourite celebs getting into social media spats with one another due to their conflicting views.

One of those, not afraid to take to Twitter to say what’s really on her mind is Location, Location, Location presenter, Kirstie Allsopp, 49.

The Hampstead, London-born star frequently posts on the micro-blogging site as though there is no tomorrow.

Mum-of-two Kirstie has used her platform over the past 18 months to disagree with the handling of the coronavirus pandemic, claiming that it has been over-exaggerated by those in power.

Kirstie has previously claimed that she was disappointed after hearing on BBC Radio 5 Live that the number of children being admitted to hospital was a “lie”.

Following the news story that focused on an interview about children’s hospital admissions, Kirstie tweeted: “Covid is a horrible disease but it is very, very, very rare for it to impact children.

“They are still at far more danger from journeys in cars, or swimming, or trampolining than Covid.”

She added: “Please do not let anyone persuade you otherwise.”

However, this post rattled Piers Morgan, who responded: “Of all the people I least want to hear from when it comes to expert advice on coronavirus, TV estate agent Kirstie Allsopp and her cretinous trampoline analogies are top of the list.”

While Coronavirus has been a hot topic, Kirstie has also criticised celebrities who have spoken of “moral compass” over the years while taking illegal drugs.

In view of her Twitter followers, Kirstie penned: “I see so many people on this forum who I know have taken illegal drugs, the transport & trade of which costs tens of thousands of lives, banging on about ‘Covidiots’.

“Where was your oh so strong moral compass when that blood soaked coke was going into your turned-up nose?”

Just ten minutes later, Kirstie wrote: “Glad to see smug judgement & holier than thou tweeting is in full flow this Monday morning.

“I’m no better though, I judge the hypocrites as harshly. I loath those that decry others from their pulpits then ‘accidentally’ break the rules, go all ‘mea culpa’, and then start again.”

Kirstie has previously described Gogglebox as “stomach-churning”

However, nothing gets missed off of Kirstie’s list of rants, with the real estate agent recently taking fire at Gogglebox.

Speaking about the popular Channel 4 programme, Kirstie told My Weekly: “It’s the worst form of mean, cruel television. It’s one thing to talk about people in private but to put it in a public space is not entertainment.”

The outspoken star went on to describe the show as “stomach-churning” after discovering that they had used a clip of her show, Kirstie’s Crafty Christmas.

While she often discusses her happy family life, Kirstie previously revealed that step-parenting is perhaps the biggest challenge she has ever faced.

She wrote on Twitter: “When folk bang on about how hard being a parent is, I quietly think they should give step-parenting a try first.”

The presenter also engaged in a much bigger feud with Piers Morgan on social media and allegedly “demanded an apology” from him.

Piers claimed that Kirstie contacted ITV bosses after the pair came to blows after she was criticised for travelling to her second home in Devon during the initial lockdown period.

“She got a load of TV execs to call me up trying to get me to stop and apologise,” Piers told The Mirror.

After the initial backlash, Kirstie took to Twitter saying: “The last 24 hours has been utterly horrible, full of vile, unpleasant and frankly frightening comments.”

The former Good Morning Britain anchor responded: “Kirstie, you’re rich, privileged and isolating in a lavish country home with your family.

“Maybe stop making this crisis about your struggle with trolls and direct your energy into rallying support for NHS workers risking their lives for us all in very dangerous circumstances?”

Hitting out, Kirstie replied: “You total b*****d, there was no need to retweet that to your millions of followers, it was a totally unnecessary and unkind thing to do.”
