Khloe Kardashian has come under fire for her past “fatphobic” comments – after a video of the reality starlet resurfaced online.
The Keeping Up With the Kardsashians star, 37, was seen making the controversial remarks during a 2019 chat with British media personality Jay Shetty.
Clips from the beauty’s interview have since gone viral on TikTok and Twitter in the last few weeks – and sparked a backlash from angry viewers who have lashed out at her comments about “fat” people.
The fitness-loving star told the podcast host: “I can’t stand people that are like eating a bucket of Häagen-Dazs ice cream, [saying] ‘I’m so fat!’
“And like, they won’t work out, they won’t change their diet, they won’t drink more water, they won’t whatever, but they’re complaining, complaining, complaining.”
The mum was expressing her frustration over people who want to lose weight but decide to keep eating unhealthy foods.
She continued: “I’m like well, you’re always going to be in this victimised state because you’re literally not doing any, you’re not being self-aware.
“You’re not even looking at your own reflection, saying, “Okay, what can I do to change things about myself?” It’s everybody else’s fault.”
Many fans were left fuming online after seeing the viral clip, with many fans rushing to social media to criticise Khloe for her comments.
It comes after the mum-of-one has undergone a dramatic body transformation – revealing her trimmed figure after taking on a gruelling workout regime in the gym.
The multi-millionaire star has enlisted the help of Beverly Hills-based personal trainer Gunnar Peterson who delivers a four-week online gym programme.
Some were unhappy with Khloe for what they saw as her not acknowledging her privileged position when talking about other people’s weight – as she is a wealthy celebrity who can recruit health and fitness professionals.
One fuming Twitter user said: “Like yes. Do healthy things. But also… most people can’t afford a personal trainer and cosmetic procedures and a nutritionist so stop trying to make it sound that easy.”
A second wrote: “Big ‘just don’t be poor’ vibes.”
A third commented: “Someone tell Khloe Kardashian that most people don’t have access to a personal chef, personal trainer, a private gym, a nutritionist, and can’t afford to get plastic surgery every three months.”
“Don’t tell people to put in the work when you have people doing all the work for you.”
In 2018, Khloe claimed that her slimmer-looking nose was due to contouring as she was “scared” of cosmetic surgery, but said that she could be willing to get a rhinoplasty.
She told her millions of followers on Twitter: “I hope that whenever I need/want a facial surgery I can just take a pill or something lol this s*** scares me.”
However, it was revealed that the star had received a nose job during the reunion episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians earlier this year.
The star also confessed to having had other beauty treatments in the past, and in June she told Andy Cohen: “I’ve done, sure, injections. Not really Botox. I’ve responded horribly to Botox.”
