Shaun Evans, 41, is best known for playing Detective Chief Inspector Endeavour Morse in the ITV drama series, Endeavour.
However, fans may not have known Shaun was previously linked to a very famous Irish singer.
The actor dated Irish singer Andrea Corr from The Corrs, who was also once named the “world’s sexiest woman”.
Corr is a singer, songwriter, musician, author and actress who won the title of “world’s sexiest woman” back in 2000.
At the time, Corr beat curvy TV chef Nigella Lawson and Welsh beauty Catherine Zeta-Jones for the top spot.
The couple met on the set of Irish film The Great Ceili War and made their relationship official in 2003.
Although the pair looked gorgeous together, it wasn’t meant to be. They split four years later.
However, when they were together the two appeared smitten with one another.
The Belfast Telegraph reported that Corr thought Shaun was “absolutely gorgeous”.
Shaun’s feelings were reciprocated as he admitted that she’s “not just stunning, but really talented as well”.
Shaun remains very quiet about his private life.
The actor doesn’t use social media and rarely speaks out about his relationships or marital status.
In an interview with Ox in a Box, Shaun said: “[Endeavour had] little impact on my life which I like because I’m not a person who has a public persona, or a profile on social media.
“I just like to do my job and then go home and carry on with my life.”
Shaun stayed true to his word and has said very little about his private life since.
However, he did let slip that he had a crush on another very famous singer.
He told The Belfast Telegraph: “I’ve got the biggest crush on Patti Smith. I find her really inspiring. Her photographs are incredible, the poetry that she writes, and just her way of living.
“I’m totally gushing now, but as soon as I finished one of her books, I started it again, because I was so intoxicated with the atmosphere of it. She’s something else.”
Patti has spoken out about her love for the TV show Endeavour, so perhaps Shaun’s list of famous girlfriends will continue. Let’s hope he doesn’t mind the age gap.
The next episode of The Vigil airs on Sunday 5th September at 9pm on BBC One.
