Kerry Katona has not not just been loved by fans for being one third of Atomic Kitten but because many admirer her honest and open approach to life.
However, her frankness has often lead to trouble with the former songstress – who is celebrating her 41st birthday today – entering into many long-term feuds.
The mum-of-five doesn’t shy away from airing her views in public which has on occasions backfired and ended up in furious fallouts.
It is certainly no secret that Kerry had fallen out with her bandmates, many of her exes, friends and other celebrities across the years.
Here, Daily Star explores some of the hitmakers most turbulent feuds – From Brain McFadden, Katie Price and girlband fallout we’ve got it all.
Atomic Kitten
Kerry Katona, Natasha Hamilton and Liz McClarnon had made it clear over time that there were occasions where there had been bad blood.
Speaking in her New magazine column, Kerry spoke openly about one fight that had seemingly got out of hand.
She penned: “I remember some of the fights we had in Atomic Kitten back in the day.
“Once, Liz punched me from behind after we had a little row. I was furious and got my own back.
“I made her get changed in the toilets at SMTV Live, then I stamped on her feet while we were up on stage singing Whole Again.”
In 2001 Kerry quit the band after she’d fallen pregnant with her first child with Westlife star Brian McFadden.
Her departure landed as the group swooped to the number one spot in the UK with Whole Again.
Leaving on a high, meant that Kerry’s role was replaced by Jenny Frost.
ITV’s Big Reunion
When it came to Atomic Kitten regrouping for ITV’s Big Reunion in 2013, tensions mounted as talks became awkward when selecting if Kerry or Jenny would make up the third member.
Jenny made her thoughts clear that there wasn’t room for the both of them in the line-up.
“I don’t want to be derogatory about Kerry, but there shouldn’t be four of us in Atomic Kitten,” she said.
In a column for OK! magazine, the reality star hit back at Jenny: “The thing is, I was the founding member of the band.
“I’m not going to get into a slanging match over the Kittens but Jenny got the opportunity of a lifetime when she took over from me.
“They were number one when she joined the band but it was my voice on the record.”
It was Kerry, who was selected to join Natasha Hamilton and Liz McClarnon in the end.
As a result of not making the cut Jenny completely distanced herself from her bandmates.
In an interview with Closer magazine, Jenny fumed: “I’m not in contact with them any more, which I think is a real shame. But I didn’t like how things were handled with the reunion and Kerry replacing me.
“I won’t say too much, but I think it could have been managed better.”
The entire group fell apart again after Kerry performed stand-up comedy and branded Atomic Kitten as “toxic c***s” during a nightclub performance in 2018.
Kerry announced she’d been kicked out of the band – a claim that both Liz and Natasha have strongly disputed.
Katie Price
In 2017 it was announced that Katie Price and Kerry Katona had finally put their differences aside after their infamous ten year feud.
According to reports the pair fell out in 2007 – even though the pair had been close mates after appearing on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! together.
Their close bond seemed to take a U-Turn after Katie called Kerry “a druggie” and branded her second husband Mark Croft a “bully”.
To make matters worse and no doubt rub salt in the wounds, Kerry then joined the same PR agency as Katie’s ex Peter Andre with the pair joining forces for photoshoots together.
Brian McFadden
Kerry Katona and Brian McFadden appeared to be love’s young dream with the pair both being young budding singers with their whole lives ahead of them.
In 2002, the hitmakers tied the knot with the pair later having two daughters together Molly and Lilly-Sue.
However before they’d even walked down the aisle, the family were destined for trouble as Brian had cheated with stripper on his very own stag-do.
Six months after saying ‘I do’ Brian’s infidelity became public knowledge.
In spite of his betrayal, Kerry opted to remain with the Westlife singer to keep their family united.
But two years later, Brian explained to the former Atomic Kitten member that he’d fallen in love with Australian singer Delta Goodrem.
Kerry and Brian later divorced for good in 2006.
It didn’t end amicably between the exes and they entered into a war with one another that would last six years.
Speaking about being cheated on, Kerry told New of The World: “That killed it for me.
“I loved Brian and I trusted him. I remember thinking: ‘But he’s the fat one from Westlife. Why would he do this to me?'”
After reading to the two part newspaper article, Brian fired back in rage on Twitter.
He penned: “A certain pig faced mole has suggested my own daughter Lilly doesn’t know me and I never talk to my kids.
“Wish certain f***s would stop selling there stories to rags and get a real job…”
Later he vented: “Kerry Katona, you are dead to me!”
Phillip Schofield
Recently, it came to light that Kerry had been upset during an interview with Philip Schofield on This Morning which took place over 13 years ago.
Kerry appeared on the programme with host Phil and co-star Fern Britton in 2008 which saw her slur words and later left the mum-of-five feeling suicidal.
Kerry raged in 2019 after Phillip and Holly Willoughby turned up to present hungover, saying in her new! magazine column: “You can imagine how upsetting I find it when Holly and Phil come on the show hungover the morning after the NTAs – one time Holly had a stain down her dress and Phil was still in his suit – and everyone celebrates it like it’s the funniest thing in the world.
“That to me just screams double standards.”
Kerry finished: “When you’re the king of ITV you can get away with anything – yet people think I’m p***ed on the show and it nearly ruins my career. Funny that.”
Although the situation was clearly sad for Kerry, she wanted to make it clear that there had been no “feud” between her and Phil on social media this year, confirming there was no bad blood.
Setting the record straight, Kerry took to Instagram to get her side across.
“Hang on a minute…. This is b*******!
“I have NOT been feuding with Schofe for 13 years at all!!!! I absolutely adore Phil!!! We’ve been friends for a very long time!
“My point of the story was how far we’ve come when talking about mental health!
“Philip has always been so lovely, not with just me but my kids too… so please don’t believe everything you read! “
Sharing a snippet of the article, she also added: “This has been completely twisted.”
The ITV host was seemingly happy that Kerry had wadded in to rectify the situation.
He wrote in the comments section: “Thanks darlin’, what can ya do eh?
“Sending loads of love and see you soon xx.”
