Ali G return scuppered as snowflakes claim Sacha Baron Cohen character is 'racist'

Ali G’s return could be scuppered by snowflakes who claim the character is racist.

Sacha Baron Cohen has confirmed he is bringing back the leader of Da West Staines Massiv after he made a shock reappearance at the Comedy Store in Sydney, Australia.

One web user wrote yesterday: “Anyone else were to do this garbage act and they would be called racist.”

Another said: “Cultural misappropriation and a white middle aged man pretending to be BAME is just not funny anymore.”

A third added: “Oh so Mr Woke wants to return to a racist and worn out trope? Hypocrite,” while others called him “a disgrace” and a “pillock”.

But Tim Long tweeted: “Can’t believe snowflakes are moaning about Ali G. Funniest thing ever!”

Sacha, 49, said in 2007 he was retiring the character as he was becoming too recognisable to fool celebs in fake interviews.

But while he has been living in Australia during the pandemic, he said he “wanted to get on stage and muck around”, adding: “I just wanted to see what Ali G would be like with a crowd. It was really good fun.”

Other fans reception has been nothing but positive as many also have some nostalgia for the character who was massive in the 90s.

BritBox confirmed earlier this year that Baron Cohen’s Da Ali G Show would air on the platform with a pre-warning about its “racist terms”.

Before watching the series, viewers will now see a warning that the episodes contain “crude humour, including racist terms which may offend, sexual references and strong language”.
