The Chase star Darragh Ennis revealed that he made an accidental “stupid comment’ during season three of spin-off show Beat The Chasers.
He added that he begged producers not to include it, but they refused.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Darragh said: “I said the most stupid thing of my entire life on camera and I asked them to edit out but they didn’t.”
When asked what it was like filming with the cast, Jenny Ryan said: “It’s like herding cats. Kind of what it’s like, but very brainy cats.”
Shaun Wallace chimed in to joke: “If we get questions wrong then Jenny gets us all with boxing gloves and goes whack!”
Anne Hegerty described her perfect way to celebrate a win on the show saying: “I celebrate by going home and reading a good book.”
The Chase spin-off show Beat the Chasers took home the award for Best Quiz Game Show at the National Television Awards 2021.
The quiz show beat out competition from Celebrity Catchphrase, In For A Penny, and Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel.
It comes after Mark Labbett, best known as The Beast, offered Darragh some wise words of advice ahead of his first NTAs.
“Enjoy your first #NTAwards and don’t get between our producer and the mic if we win,” he tweeted, in view of his 141,000 Twitter followers.
Darragh cheekily responded: “If you couldn’t stop them what chance do I have?”
Mark added: “Find the Potato Sky Box. If we win, the booze will be flowing.”
Mark was not in attendance at the awards and took to Twitter to explain his absence.
He cheekily blamed his co-star and pal Anne for being a bad influence.
“Sorry I won’t be at the NTAs tonight. I am having a quiet night in, my liver cannot cope with drinking at @anne_hegerty pace,” Mark commented, to which Anne replied with a laughing emoji.
