EastEnders actor Jake Woods is hotly tipped to join the cast of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here following his exit from the BBC soap.
The 49-year-old, who has played Max Branning since 2006, could follow in the footsteps of fellow ‘Enders star Jessica Plummer.
Jake, who is currently starring in the spooky play 2:22 – A Ghost Story alongside Lily Allen, also revealed on Good Morning Britain that he would “love” to take part in the show, which will be based in Wales instead of Australia again this year.
Meanwhile, Ladbrokes has announced that the odds on Jake joining are now down to 5/2.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Jake Wood’s already given Strictly a go, and the odds suggest he’ll soon be following in the footsteps of Albert Square colleagues Shane Richie and Jessica Plummer with a stint in North Wales potentially on the cards.”
Back to GMB, when presenter Ben Shephard asked Jake if he would be keen on signing up he replied. “I’ve made no secret of the fact I’d love to do the jungle.”
We were talking about it in the break Kate,” Max explained and Kate added: “And I said give it a go.”
Max replied: “Absolutely,” and Ben added: “We’d love to see you out there, whether in Wales or Australia?”
“Either or, bring it on,” Jake said.
Meanwhile, Steps star Lee Latchford-Evans has also teased a potential upcoming I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! stint – but his bandmates aren’t too keen.
In an exclusive chat with Daily Star, the 46-year-old couldn’t contain his excitement at the thought of heading into the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Camp.
While bandmate Claire said: “I would never, ever do I’m A Celeb in a million years – it’s an absolute no go for me, I don’t fancy having thousands of cockroaches dumped on my head.”
Lee added: “It doesn’t bother me,” before Faye interjected: “Lee would be great.”
