After 14 years at Radio 1, Nick Grimshaw must be looking for new opportunities. Could a stint on I’m A Celebrity be next?
The 37-year-old was discussing his departure from the breakfast show on FUBAR radio and was asked by hosts Bobby Norris and Stephen Leng if he fancied braving the jungle – or in this year’s case, Wales.
But I’m A Celeb fans will be disappointed as Nick said the chances were “unlikely”.
He said: “I don’t think I would. I honestly can’t with any creature.
“I don’t know how people do it. Like honestly, I just could not.”
He added: “I can’t even touch a cat. I couldn’t touch a snake. I couldn’t. Dogs I’m fine with but even my sister’s cats, I’m like: ‘Aahh!’. So there’s not a chance.”
Nick said the only way he would be prepared to do it is if producers let him experience it first off-screen and “try it for an hour…just like a speeded up version, an hour long”.
Similarly, when asked would he be interested in doing Strictly Come Dancing, Nick, who also used to present The X Factor, said no way.
Nick added: “My boyfriend’s a dancer and he would just not let me do it because he’s like a perfectionist and that’s his trade.”
On other news, Nick’s long-time pal Harry Styles sent his friend a farewell message on his last radio show.
In a pre-recorded audio clip, the Fine Line singer said: “Hi Grimmy, it’s Harry. I cannot believe it’s your last week on BBC Radio 1.
“My favourite time being on Radio 1 with you was probably forming the Straight Through Crew and going straight in from the Brits.
“But also, every time that could have been so scary for me playing new music, it was always so nice for me to have a friend there and it always felt so safe.”

Radio 1 fans will recognise Harry’s tale as the evening he and Grimmy partied hard after the Brit Awards in 2013 and hilariously turned up to the host’s breakfast show still in a state from the night before.
The presenter recently reflected on the iconic moment and said: “I think it was a culturally relevant hangover. We all made it in, but my producers didn’t!
“That’s why it sounded so mad – because both my producers were asleep on a different floor. It was absolute chaos.”
He went on: “It was so fun. When I’m out, I hate the party ending – I hate everyone having to go home. So I thought if I’ve got to go in, why don’t we make them come in?”
