The family of missing actress Tanya Fear have said they were “relieved and extremely grateful” as the star was found alive after four days.
The Doctor Who star, 31, was found safe in Los Angeles after she went missing for four days which led to a frantic four-day search.
It comes as the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that the actress was safe and “not physically harmed”.
Tanya was reportedly being cared for in a local hospital as a “precaution”.
Tanya’s family took to social media to share their emotional reaction to the news, releasing a statement on a Twitter account named #FindTanyaFear.
The family said: “It is with great pleasure and relief to report, that Tanya has been found safe by police today,
“We understand she is not physically harmed, but as a precaution is being assessed at a local hospital.
“We wish to thank the police, members of the public for their efforts in locating Tanya, as well as the outpouring of concern and support over the last several days.
“Tanya’s family are relieved and extremely grateful.”
In a second statement, which is believed to come from Tanya’s mum Yvonne, revealed that the family are “overjoyed” with the good news.
The statement read: “Our family is overjoyed and relieved to confirm that Tanya has been found.
“A family friend is currently with her. As a family and members of Tanya’s circle, we would love to thank you the LA community for their active efforts on the ground looking for her.
“To the global community, we want to thank you for sharing her image, posters and stories.
“Together we have our girl back. Thank you.”
It follows Tanya being reported missing by a friend after she left her apartment at the Hollywood Bowl without her mobile phone and her purse.
She had last been seen on Thursday in the Santa Monica Boulevard area in Los Angeles.
Her disappearance caused a nerve-wracking search by her family, who are based in the UK, who tried to jet over to the US to aid in the search.
Mum Yvonne had strived to obtain a temporary visa in order to fly over to Los Angeles amid the crisis.
The actress was spotted at a Trader Joe’s in Santa Monica, California, on Sunday.
Tanya’s mum had previously said: “I am devastated about this situation and I appeal to anyone with information to please come forward to bring out daughter back safely.”
