'Nicki Minaj and testicles grab BoJo's attention – but we're scratching our heads'

Let’s start with the worst Met Gala of the last decade.

Ghastly, cheap, and a guest list that would make anyone cringe.

Anna Wintour, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue US, has been responsible for the invitations for one of fashion’s biggest events since 1995.

In 2021, she failed, miserably.

This year, many big stars failed to attend, including Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga, Kylie Jenner, Katy Perry, Beyoncé, Cardi B, and Zendaya, all of whom didn’t show up.

I don’t blame them.

Instead, the likes of TikTokers Addison Rae and Dixie D’Amelio walked the prestigious carpet.

You don’t know who they are? What?

Unless you have TikTok or are aged 12, you wouldn’t recognise any of these internet ‘stars’.

Which begs the question: why were they there?

Perhaps after the pandemic, there was a feeling of desperation and Ms Wintour wanted to hand out tickets to anyone who wasn’t witlessly scared of leaving their house and resuming some kind of normality.

For those that did make an ‘effort’, perhaps they should’ve just stayed at home anyway.

Let’s start with Kim Kardashian, 40 – you might not recognise the reality star under her Harry Potter-esque Halloween costume.

She was dressed in head-to-toe in Balenciaga, a look that left many puzzled and many wondering: is that really Kim K?

This year’s theme was celebrating all things American Fashion… Right.

I can’t see how Ms Kardashian dressed as a demon represents ‘American Fashion’.

Regardless, it probably one of the most memorable outfits of the night – which says a lot.

Next up, Kim’s sister, Kendall Jenner, 25.

Now, out all of the looks she was the best dressed.

10/10.

Wearing a stunning Givenchy dress, the supermodel wanted to give a nod to actress Audrey Hepburn, fusing French couture and Hollywood cinema in one look.

Everything was executed perfectly.

From there, it went down hill.

The likes of toff Cara Delevingne, 29, and self-aggrandising Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, 31, turned up to the event wearing dresses emblazoned with the phrases: ‘Peg The Patriarchy’ and ‘Tax The Rich’.

What makes this more painful, tickets to the Gala cost $30,000 each.

The audacity from these pair of overpaid and overprivileged twerps to attend a celebrity gala full of millionaires in eye-waveringly expensive clothing and complaining about the rich and patriarchy, is laughable.

How about you come next time in jeans and a jumper and I might take you more seriously?

A notable absence this year was rapper Nicki Minaj, 38, who usually leaves an impression.

The controversial rap artist cited the reason for not attending the Met Gala this year was over the requirement to be vaccinated.

She claimed that she’ll only get vaccinated once she conducts “enough research” into the jabs.

She later told her millions of followers on Twitter that her cousin’s friend took the vaccine and became “impotent” and his testicles became “swollen”.

This all escalated pretty quickly.

The story of Ms Minaj’s cousin’s friend’s swollen testicles was discussed in a coronavirus briefing with UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson and England’s Chief Medical Officer, Professor Chris Whitty.

Of course, her misinformation was totally condemned by Professor Whitty, saying the the rap star should be “ashamed”.

Ms Minaj also left a voice note for the Prime Minister, claiming to be British, an Oxford graduate, and a friend of Margaret Thatcher.

It didn’t stop there.

Ms Minaj also went after Piers Morgan and BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg.

You have to ask yourself, how are people like Nicki Minaj allowed to get away with this stuff?

Has Twitter taken any action by way of removing the misinformation from their platform?

No.

However, during the last presidential election, they were very quick to flag tweets published by former President Donald Trump, and eventually removing him from their micro-blogging site completely.

More needs to be done to combat mistruths surrounding the vaccine; it’s been our key to exiting this pandemic.

When the likes of dimwit Nicki Minaj tweets to millions of impressionable followers, their words carry great power.

So, thank you to the likes of Professor Whitty and Piers Morgan who called out the rapper for her scaremongering.

Most celebrities are all so useless, idiotic, and should be tested before given large platforms that yield so much influence.

So whilst I recover from the Met Gala catastrophe and Ms Minaj’s deluge of bilge, get the vaccine and don’t listen to moronic celebs like Nicki Minaj.
