Naga Munchetty shares 'shaky' video from hospital bed as she issues plea to fans

BBC Breakfast star Naga Munchetty has shared a clip of herself laying in a hospital bed on social media in order to try and get her followers to “help save lives”.

The host posted a candid video as she underwent a procedure in the hospital and urged people to go and do the same.

Naga, 46, can be seen laying down while wearing a mask as she talked to the camera, with a healthcare worker in the background talking to her.

The BBC Breakfast presenter explained that she was on a visit to the hospital to donate blood.

Naga told her 47,000 followers: “Guess where I am? I am here with the lovely Russ.

“What are we doing, Russ?”

To which the NHS healthcare worker replied: “You’ve come here to donate blood to help save lives.”

Naga then asked: “Why is the camera shaking, Russ?”

He then jokingly quipped: “Because you’re a bag of nerves.”

The BBC Breakfast broadcaster laughed and then explained: “Because I’m doing as I was told.

“I’m squeezing the buttocks because I want to give a little bit of blood and help to save lives.”

She added: “Anyway, if you think you can do it why not give it a go because you get to meet lovely people like Russ.

“Have a lovely day.”

The broadcaster captioned the Instagram post: “Today is blood donation day. Takes hardly any time and l always see a friendly face here.”

She then also added the hashtags: “#nhsblooddonation #feelgood.”

Fans then flocked to the comment section, as they bigged up host Naga for selflessly donating blood to the NHS.

While another remarked: “Proud of you Naga and all that you do.”

A third then penned: “I work for NHS Blood and Transplant. Thank you so much for donating and putting a video on Instagram, it means a lot.”

And a fourth added: “Gave my 59th donation this week.”
