This Morning presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby have confirmed they take lateral flow tests ‘twice a week’ to test for Covid.
Wednesday’s episode of the ITV daytime series saw the pair debate the rumours that some celebrities from Strictly Come Dancing have expressed concerns that some of the professional dancers in this year’s line-up haven’t received any of the coronavirus vaccines on offer.
Debating the matter with Nick Ferrari and Nicola Thorp, Phil said the debate was difficult as those involved are asked to disclose an element of their personal medical information to other people.
He then added: “I’m prepared to say that this morning, I took a lateral flow test.
“I do every Monday and Wednesday and I do that so that [Holly and I] can sit this close together.”
Holly added: “Same.”
Phil added: “And I’m happy, we’re happy, to say that out loud.”
The presenters returned to This Morning earlier this month following a summer break from the show.
Upon their return, they were happy to announce that the rule requiring them to stay 2-metres away from each other had been lowered to just a 1-metre rule.
The debate was sparked after a supposed Strictly source claimed that one star on the show told friends that they should have been protected, after learning their professional partner hadn’t received the coronavirus vaccine jab.
Sharing her view on the matter, Nicola said: “I think it’s a really tricky one.
“Nobody should be forced to take the vaccine and I don’t think anybody should be forced legally to declare their vaccination status for work purposes like this, with the exception of course of people working in the medical profession.”
Strictly Come Dancing returned to screens on Saturday.
All 15 celebrities were paired with their professional dance partners.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
