Award winning comedy series The Big Bang Theory first aired on our tv screens on September 24, 2007.
The series, about four friends – Howard, Leonard, Sheldon and Raj – who meet new friend Penny after she moves into the apartment across from them, ran for 12 series and has since led to a spin-off series called Young Sheldon.
It won 10 Primetime Emmy Awards and received 253 award nominations in total throughout its 14-year run.
Here we look at where the stars of the hugely popular sitcom are now, including guest host spots on game shows and appearing in Hollywood films.
Kaley Cuoco
Kaley Cuoco starred as Penny in all 279 episodes of The Big Bang Theory.
Prior to the hit series, Cuoco already had a long acting career in series including Charmed and as Bridget Hennessy in the comedy 8 Simple Rules.
Since 2020, she has starred as Cassie Bowden in the tv series, The Flight Attendant, and voiced DC character Harley Quinn in the animated series of the same name from 2019-2020.
Cuoco has been married twice, first to Ryan Sweeting from 2013 to 2016, and then to Karl Cook in 2018.
It was announced in September 2021 that she and husband Cook were separating, with the couple saying in a statement in People magazine, “despite a deep love and respect for one another, we have realised that our current paths have taken us in opposite directions”.
Jim Parsons
Jim Parsons starred as Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory, whose character has since gained a spin-off series called Young Sheldon, starring Iain Armitage in the role.
Like Cuoco, Parsons has had a long acting career in television programmes and films including 2004’s Garden State, as the voice of Oh in the 2015 film Home and as the human version of puppet Walter, in the 2011 film The Muppets.
He most recently starred in the Netflix film The Boys in the Band in 2020, opposite actors including Zachery Quinto, TV series Staged in 2021, and also featured in the spin-off series Young Sheldon.
Parsons has been married to his husband Todd Spiewak, who is a graphic designer, film producer and art director, since 2017.
Mayim Bialik
Mayim Bialik played neuroscientist Amy in the Big Bang Theory.
She not only played a neuroscientist in the series, but also has a PhD in neuroscience in real life from UCLA, which she completed in 2008.
Bialik was also offered places to study at both Harvard and Yale, before attending UCLA to study her Bachelor’s Degree.
Prior to the comedy series, she played the titular role in 90s television series Blossom, and has also starred in television programmes and films including Beaches and MacGyver.
She has most recently hosted the game show Jeopardy in the US, and starred in the series Call me Kat in 2021.
Melissa Rouch
Melissa Rouch played Bernadette Rostenkowski-Wolowitz in the Big Bang Theory from 2009.
In addition to her onscreen role in the series, Rouch has a long list of voice acting credits including Francine in Ice Age: Collision Course, Harley Quinn in 2017’s Batman and Harley Quinn and Wasp/Hope Pym in the TV mini series of Ant-Man.
Rouch also played Summer in six episodes of True Blood in 2010, and currently has a huge net worth estimated at just over £14million.
She most recently voiced the character Dinah in the 2021 animated series, The Chicken Squad.
Johnny Galecki
Johnny Galecki starred as Leonard Hofstadter in the Big Bang Theory.
In addition to the comedy series, he has starred in television programmes including Entourage in 2011 and films including 1997’s I Know What You Did Last Summer.
In 1991, he also starred alongside future co-star Mayim Bialik in an episode of the TV series Blossom, as Jason.
Since the series ended, he has played David Healy in The Connors from 2018 to 2019, a follow up to TV series Roseanne, which starred Galecki as the character from 1992 to 1997.
It is reported that while filming the Big Bang Theory, Galecki and co-star Kaley Cuoco dated for two years.
Simon Helberg
Simon Helberg played Simon Wolowitz in all 279 episodes of the Big Bang Theory.
His acting career dates back to 1999, where he has since starred in television programmes and films including 2004’s A Cinderella Story, 2016’s Florence Foster Jenkins and comedy series Drunk History in 2013.
He most recently voiced Squirrel in the 2021 animated Disney series Dug Days.
Kunal Nayyar
Kunal Nayar starred as Raj Koothrappali in the Big Bang Theory.
Prior to acting, Nayar graduated with a degree in Business from the University of Portland, but got into acting by attending classes to make new friends while he was studying.
While filming the Big Bang Theory, he also provided voices for the Nickelodeon animated series Sanjay and Craig, from 2013 to 2016.
Since the Big Bang Theory, he has starred as Sandeep Singh in 2020’s Criminal: UK and voiced Guy Diamond in the animated film Trolls: World Tour.
Kevin Sussman
Kevin Sussman played Stuart Bloom in the Big Bang Theory from 2009-2019.
Prior to the series, Sussman had already starred in films including Sweet Home Alabama in 2002 and played Walter in Ugly Betty from 2006 to 2007.
He is currently listed as starring in a new TV mini series called The Dropout in 2022, which is currently in pre-production.
