The Butcher family have taken centre stage in some of the biggest EastEnders storylines over the last three decades.
From cockney gravel-voiced car salesman Frank Butcher to his grandchildren Liam and Tiffany Butcher, the Butcher clan have seen all in life.
Frank’s love affair with Pat (Pam St Clement) gripped viewers as he was always breaking her heart, disappearing and returning to break it all over again.
Actor Mike Reid, who played ladies man Frank from 1987 to 2005, sadly passed away in 2007.
His granddaughter Tiffany Butcher (Maisie Smith) is currently the only Butcher living in Albert Square, but what have the stars who played the rest of the family been up too since leaving Walford?
Daily Star Online have taken a look at what the likes of Sophie Lawrence and Charlie Brooks have been doing since quitting the soap.
Pat Butcher (Pam St Clement)
Pam St Clement is known for portraying the role of Pat Butcher in EastEnders from 1986 until 2012m with a guest appearance in 2016, making the actress one of the programme’s longest-serving cast members.
Eastenders fans were left In tears when Pat was killed off on New Years Day 2012 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Pat’s ghost made a shock return in 2016 as a hallucination for Peggy Mitchell’s (Barbara Windsor) death.
In 2015, Pam admitted she struggled to keep with what is going on in the soap.
The veteran actress revealed getting older had made the storylines harder to follow.
Bisexual actress Pam, now 77, appeared on ITV daytime show Loose Women last year to discuss her “year from hell” after a horrific injury.
She told the female panel that she was badly injured during a trip to Australia during a typhoon.
Pat has previously admitted that she has turned to cannabis to fix her joints and takes cannabis-infused oil every day to help her arthritis.
Diane Butcher (Sophie Lawerence)
Sophie Lawerence joined the EastEnders cast as Diane Butcher in 1988 and was a regular character until 1991.
The character made several brief returns in 1993, 1994 and 1997.
In 2008, Diana returned to Albert Square for her father Frank’s funeral and in 2012 she retuned for his sister’s Janine’s wedding.
Sophie, now 47, initially used her role in EastEnders to launch herself as a pop star.
She enjoyed minor chart success in 1991, when she cover of Donna Summer’s Love’s Unkind reached Number 21 in the UK Singles Chart.
Sophie worked with successful pop writers and producers including music mogul Simon Cowell.
The actress other notable television credits include Men Behaving Badly and Cadfael.
Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks)
Janine has recently returned to Albert Square and is already causing havoc but bad girl Janine Butcher was first introduced to soap fans in 1989.
The character was played by Rebecca Michael and Alexia Demetriou before Charlie Brooks, who played the role from 1999 to 2014.
Janine’s storylines included prostitution, drug addiction, financial worries, becoming rich, becoming agoraphobic and being wrongly charged with the murder of Laura Beale (Hannah Waterman).
She was married four times and was last seen in Albert Square six years ago when she fled the country after being acquitted of murdering her husband Michael Moon (Steve John Shepherd).
One of Janine’s most iconic scenes is when she accidentally pushed husband Barry Evans (Shaun Williamson) over a cliff.
Since leaving her Walford days behind, actress Charlie, now 38, has become a reality TV star.
Charlie won the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special in 2011 and she was also named the Queen of the Jungle after on I’m a Celebrity.. Get Me Out of Here! In 2012, beating campmate Pussycat Dolls star Ashley Roberts.
Her fitness Dvd became the UK’s best-fitness DVD release as she transformed herself from “podgy Janine to a sexy new mum”.
Ricky Butcher (Sid Owen)
Sid Owen is best known for paying Ricky Butcher in EastEnders from 1988 until 2012.
In 2018, soap star Sid claimed he was assaulted on a plane before being removed from a British Airways flight from Dubai to London.
It was reported that a passenger in front of the actor reclined his chair, with Sid then objecting.
According to The Sun, both parties were removed from the flight and, as they were, a woman reportedly screamed “Rickaaay!” at Sid.
That is, of course, a nod to his EastEnders’ character’s fiery romance with Bianca Butcher (Patsy Palmer) who often screeched his name.
Sid, now 48, was left needing reconstructive surgery recently after a golf ball smashed into his face while holidaying in Thailand earlier this year.
The TV star had his jaw shattered with several teeth going flying after the incident.
Sid was on a detox holiday in Thailand, when a ball smashed into his jaw while he was playing a round of golf.
Speaking to The Sun in February, the actor said: “One minute I’m playing a round and the next I’m in total agony and on my way to hospital.
“But actually I’ve almost been lucky because they’ve told me if it had hit me two inches higher up I’d probably be dead from that sort of impact.”
Liam Butcher (James Forde)
James Forde, who played Ricky and Bianca’s son Liam Butcher on the soap until 2015, has landed a new job as a builder since leaving the show.
The former EastEnders cast member appeared on the soap from 2008 to 2015, before leaving with Cindy Williams and her baby Beth.
James, now 23, has revealed he is now making money in the building trade, and received praise from his fans as he shared the news on social media.
He is certainly all grown up now, sporting a beard as he posed for a selfie in his new uniform, looking a far cry from his schoolboy alter-ego.
The caption on one of James’s Insta photos was “Bob the Builder”, to which a fan replied with the iconic question: “Can we fix it?”
Liam left Albert Square after he announced he was moving to Germany to live with dad Ricky.
Could he return to the soap to see his little sister Tiffany, who is still on the soap?
EastEnders continues on BBC One tonight at 7.30pm
