Netflix viewers slam 'awful' Princess Diana musical film as 'worst thing ever'

Diana: The Musical has sparked a scathing reaction from viewers who have called it “truly awful” and “utter dogsh**t”.

Diana is an upcoming stage show which is set to make its Broadway debut later this year, and full footage of the play was released as a film on Netflix last Friday (October 1).

The full stage production was filmed last year without an audience to be released onto the major streaming service.

The film sees Jeanna de Waal play the leading part of the late Princess Diana, and Roe Hartrampf star as Prince Charles.

However, the film has been savagely slated by critics and fans alike who have ripped into the royal family show on social media.

One viewer on Twitter fumed: “The idea of ‘DIANA: THE MUSICAL’ should’ve been destroyed, then burned, then have the earth where it grew salted.”]

A second user penned: “#DianaNetflix has got to be the worst creative endeavour *ever*. Diana: The Musical @netflix. Biggest cringe ever. INCREDIBLY awful.”

A third branded it “truly awful”, “totally execrable” and “utter dogsh**.”

A fourth said: “Diana: The Musical is one of the worst things I’ve ever seen and I can’t stop thinking about it.”

However, a fifth admitted that despite the film being the “worst thing” they’ve ever seen, they’d still watch it so that they can, presumably, enjoy mocking it.

They said: “I cannot stress how awful and perfect the Diana musical is.

One fuming fan said the show should have been “destroyed”

“Objectively the worst thing I’ve ever seen. A flawless, stunning, fever dream. It should be considered a war crime and I want to watch it on repeat for the rest of my life.”

Another agreed, adding: “Just finished Diana: The Musical and quite frankly, it is ESSENTIAL viewing. Just absolutely terrible in the best way.”

Princess Diana, the mother of Prince Harry and Prince William, passed away at the age of 36 on 31 August 1996.

She tragically died in a car crash in Paris whilst the driver was fleeing the paparazzi.
