Jesy Nelson 'not speaking to ex Little Mix bandmates despite being close as sisters'

Jesy Nelson no longer speaks to her former Little Mix bandmates and has not seen Perrie Edwards or Leigh-Anne Pinnock’s new babies.

The 30-year-old singer sensationally quit the band in 2019 to concentrate on her mental health after suffering from depression, panic attacks and rock-bottom self-esteem due to the pressures of fame.

Jesy’s bandmates all went to see her mum Janice and it was agreed it would be best for the Romford native to leave the band and focus on getting well.

So while there are no hard feelings, Jesy still does not speak to the other girls.

Speaking to Glamour magazine as its digital cover star on the “self-care” issue, Jesy said having no contact with Perrie, 29, Leigh-Anne, 30 and Jade, 28, was “weird” because they used to be “close as sisters”.

She went on: “We were together every hour of the day for weeks, sharing beds, laughing, crying just 24/7 the four of us together and then…nothing.”

When asked if she has seen Perrie’s baby boy or Leigh-Anne’s twins, who were born within a few weeks of each other in August, Jesy said she had not aside from a “few texts”.

The pop star explained that even though she has no animosity towards the girls, she needs to be distant from them at the moment and have “space”.

Jesy added: “Hopefully at some point in the future we can all come back together.

“I love them. They are my sisters in so many ways, but for the time being, we just don’t talk.”

Jesy also opened up in the interview about how tough she found being in Little Mix because she always felt fat and used to lash herself into corsets that were so tight that she was covered in bruises.

The media personality was also relentlessly trolled online for being the “odd one out” and it got so bad she tried to kill herself.

But since quitting Little Mix, going solo and deleting all old pictures of herself from Instagram, Jesy has “never felt more like herself” and is “hand on heart happy for the first time in years”.
