Lorraine Kelly has revealed how her husband helped her when she ‘hit her lowest point’.
The 61-year-old presenter has discussed going through menopause and how she originally thought her symptoms were from working.
The talk show host’s husband Steve Smith recognised her symptoms and told her to ‘get help.’
Lorraine said: “I mean, it was basically my husband who said to me what I was going through. He said, ‘you need to get help, you need to go see the doctor because you’re not yourself.’
“You’re used to getting too anxious, in pain… you’re tired…
“And I just thought all of that was just the demands of the job. I got up very early, but I was always able to cope with all of that. I was sort of thriving on stress and the buzz of telly,” she told Express.co.uk.

In 2019, Lorraine explained how she first started menopause while she was on holiday.
She said: “It was horrible, and it crept up on me and all of a sudden, I remember vividly
“I was sitting with Steve and we were away in Spain and it was lovely, beautiful weather and all gorgeous and I just felt completely flat, I had no joy in my life at all.

“Of course I’m so lucky, I have a fantastic husband, great job, all of that and it was just horrific.”
The TV host went on to explain how she “thought [she] I was going crazy.”
She added: “I couldn’t understand it at all. I lost myself.”
Her husband Steve told her to get help and after she did, she was prescribed HRT medication to help her feel better.
She said: “It took a couple of weeks but gradually I felt like myself.”
Lorraine and Steve got married in 1993 and have one daughter Rosie together.
